Have nothing better to post than a useless critique

Depending on what you have, their condition, etc., probably more than what a pawn shop or someone on Craigslist is willing to pay. Might have to bide your time in order to maximize their values.

So I’mma wondering, what do you have? Think

Me too!

A customer recently payed nearly 5 grand for a vacuum tube amp.

Than had me install an antique live edge shelf & LED lighting under& over it for it & his minimalist turn table, CD player & receiver in the great room.

Very different looking set up but not uncool

I'd of put it in the pool table room but he put his pool table in what should be the formal dining room sooo, whatever
But this was the room that took water damage from the tub overflow upstairs.
Which was his 2nd insurance claim in as many years

I've already turned down more work from that dude

Can't stand insurance frauds! Especially when they're already rich!!

Allegedly

I never had the money for any tube stereo equipment but even if I did, I doubt if I could have convinced myself to spring for them. I’ve listened and compared various tube and non-tube brands and for the life of me, couldn’t really hear the difference. “But tube stuff is warmer!” “More depth.” Really? I wonder if they just say that to make themselves feel better about their purchase? Fo’ sure lotta “WOW!” factor but in the end, I wonder how often the equipment is pushed to really take advantage of that technology? And if you continually listen to your music that loud, hearing loss over the years would diminish the ROI. People with a lotta cents don’t always make sensible decisions.

I wonder why all the evidence to the contrary people still hold on to things like God, and ancient stereo equipment...

And why more people don't consider cyclical conformal cosmology... it makes sense if you actually think about it.

Was thinking of getting the Bose 751 ceiling speakers installed in the new house.

1 in each bathroom
2 in each bedroom, kitchen, living room & basement.

The back porch will likely get the Bose 251s

I'll figure out the receiver when Palama decides or at the next cosmological cycle whichever is first

I had two insurance claims in less than one year.
Was there inherent fraud?
Why would you take money from an insurance claim that you thought was fraudulent?

Did a quick Google search and you're probably only gonna get around $50 per component. None of them were listed for over $100. As far as the speakers go, depending on which series you have and unless they need re-coning, I'd keep them. If you have one of the later series and they're in great condition you can't find anything new, with that sound quality, for equal or less than what you could sell them for. Of course ymmv.

I'm getting an integrated amplifier. I almost never listen to the radio at home. I've boiled it down to a Denon PMA 1600NE or the 800NE. Twenty wpc difference but I'm not so sure I need 70w anymore. I just want clean, neutral sound. Playing my music at really loud levels for long stretches was okay in my 20s, not so much now. Gonna pay off the CD player first (...6 months interest free...) and then dive into which amp to get.

Drop a couple of $100 and you can get good Bluetooth speakers, you can find and play album record music on it and it sounds great. You don't need much else. You can make your own for a lot cheaper if you want to put on the work. I have dabbled and made a few out of cigar boxes that have decent sound. I might try to take older speakers apart and convert to Bluetooth but I haven't got as much time to play around as I would like.

Things that make me wonder...

Why do I have ice cream in the freezer but ran out of ice cream cones?

Someone didn't update the shopping list when they ate the last cone.

Not been camping with Z yet but it does sound like a good time.

I agree these are questions that need to be addressed.
