Agree, though fried pumpkin seeds are not bad.

No chocolate and nuts is going too far, especially macadamia nuts.

PUNKIN' BEER BLOWS

For a long time, I thought the same thing. At the beer festival, I poured for F.X.Matt brewery's Saranac beers, and one of them was Pumpkin Ale. You might want to try it IF you can find it.

First off, it tastes like BEER. That part is HUGELY important IMO.
Next, it tastes like it has some pumpkin in it.
The spiciness is reduced to just a hint, so if you are like me and think all the spice most breweries put in their pumpkin beer is WAY overdone, this one is the one you should try.

As a side note, and a little about brewery dedication, think about pumpkin beers a little. As was pointed out to me by one of the Saranac brewers, pumpkin beers come out starting in September. Pumpkins don't get ripe until the end of September into October, so how do they make the beer?

Saranac buys tons of pumpkins when they are ripe and rent freezer space for a YEAR until they can make the beer using real pumpkin. Not canned, real pumpkin. That is the most dedication from a brewery I've ever heard of.

Yessir... was MACS(SW) - Senior Chief Master-at-Arms, Surface Warfare qualified. Can't remember if it was Trish or Sven, but someone knocked off the (SW) at my request when we changed format, IIRC.

Mornin Ya'll... 29 with a high of 35...

Another Veterans day has come an passed...
there wasn't a big turnout for the Veterans ceremony's and Ham & Bean Lunchin.. The Mrs. Nominated me for the Rifle Brigade for the ceremony.... (Thanks Honey!! NOT) I tried to get out of it by saying you fuggers trust me with a loaded gun around you guys? didn't work cuz we all knew they were blanks!!! d'oh!

Actually, this was about the 4th time I participated in this event since I had retired in 2004. the members were saying later the vollies went off pretty good for a new guy and now they know who to call for funeral details... I said Not a chance, it's not my thing and I do plan on skipping my own funeral when it comes around. for some damn reason I get pretty emotional at a veteran's funeral burial ceremony. I've been in the PGR since 2005, Participated in the flag lines, escorted the veteran to his/her final resting spot. but then would leave before the ceremony at the grave site starts. during the war, we would escort (motorcycles mostly) the fallen veteran from the airport to the local funeral homes in their hometowns. Flag Lines for Honor Flights etc. its an emotional moment, but nothing like standing at the hole when the Vollie's go off and then hearing the bugle play.. I get teary and shake... almost like coming off a good fist fight. So Nope Rifle Brigade isn't my cup of Tea!!!

Ham & Beans were Great 4 bowls, the Aux women said you're on your fourth bowl, I said Lady's these taste Great and besides I got store up my ammo for the battle the Mrs. and I will be having under the covers later, I see her eating them too!!! Brick wall
Mrs. and I stopped and had one drink a piece and then home to watch war movies: Lone Survivor, 13 Hours, and O' Dark 30 (i was napping into this one) finished up with Black Hawk Down. she and her late husband never watched movies like this, just sitcoms, TV Shows and documentary's.

Hope You All had a great day yesterday!!! Beer Beer

Don't post much here any more due to the website sucking hind tit. Usually can't get logged on, and when I do it's just a matter of time before I get booted with a redirect error.

Looks like a lot of the same old BS happening as usual. "Hi" to Al, Conan, Corey, Z etc.

Has anyone else noticed the shift from calling about extended vehicle warranties to mailing them to you?

Did a couple chicken breasts inside with a pseudo indoor smoker. Didn't know what to expect but a worse case scenario is I screw up a couple pounds of chicken meat. Ok... maybe a worstest case is I start an indoor fire but that didn't happen... this time...

Roasting pan with wood shavings (not chunks or chips like you'd use for outdoor smoking, small shavings). Used a mix of apple and cherry. Only a couple of tablespoons of shavings that were soaked in water for about 15 min, consistency of wet wood shavings... not dry but not soaking wet.

- Fire up the oven to about 325° F
- Put some soaked shavings on the bottom of the roasting pan.
- Put roasting pan on the stove burner to get them smoking.
- Tent the smoking shavings. Not tight just to keep the meat drippings off of the smoking wood.
- Place chicken breasts on the grate in the roasting pan. Let them smoke for about 30 min at low heat on the stove top.
- Put the pan in the oven (tent top to keep the smoke in)
- Cook until recommended internal temp.

It worked out pretty well.

I don't get warranty calls much anymore. They seem to have switched over to car insurance now. The weird thing is they claim to be Allstate. I tell them I already have Allstate. Then they hang up
