My dog is being sweet and cuddly. She knows it is Wednesday. The bonus run today is going to break her little greyhound heart.

I'll be getting the cold shoulder when I get home.

Wife is WFH today and may walk her. Not sure if that is going to make KTG happy because she is out and about or if she'll have more disgust for me leaving her walkless this morning.

28 degrees, wc 20.

Now if someone would invent a window shade suction cup that would stick to the glass when it’s 10 degrees outside I’d be super happy.

Good Wednesday Morning! It's an overcast 48° on the way to 58° today. Giving the range another try today, got rained out yesterday.

Morning all...

It's super windy today. So windy that my 5 year old was genuinely concerned about her snack blowing away at recess.

Man, I want to be a kid again.

Gray day (which resembles my mood) with on and off rain. Had some flurries overnight with a dusting of wet snow but it melted away. Just breaking the 40° mark then back to mid 30's later.

Burning a use it or lose it sick day (cough, cough, sniffle, sniffle). Do some computer work and sending out resumes and cover letters. Might run some quick errands but there is likely a nap in the future.

Spent $120 on my friggin' lawn today. Bug granules laid down. Crabgrass/weed granules laid down. Mixed up a batch of weed killer that won't kill the grass and started spraying those bastards.

I hope this works. I'm going to give it some time and if I can't get a handle on these fkn weeds... the whole yard is getting ripped out and replaced with new sod.

Well... maybe not the whole yard. Some of it is looking really good, now.

I think you'll like it.

I use mine almost daily just to tool around town to run errands, back and forth to work and stuff. Obviously you can't use it to load up a weeks' worth of groceries but if you have a backpack and/or saddle bags, you can get most of the simple stuff with the bike. I live in a small town so everything I really need is within a 2 mile radius, outskirts of town is probably 4 mile radius so the bike serves most of my needs for daily travel. I can get just about anywhere in town in under 10 min bike ride.

In many incidences using a bike is easier than a car. On a bike you really don't have to follow rules of the road - technically you do but in the real world you don't really have to. You can go down one way streets the wrong way, cut corners through parking lots, don't necessarily have to stop at stop signs. You don't have to find a parking spot, just pull up to the store and put down the kickstand as long as the bike is not in the way of the doors.

My bike is 36V/10.4Ah, 350W motor. Most e-bikes have a governor on them that won't allow you to get over 20 mph. In my state and most states, after 20 mph the bike is no longer a bike but a motorized vehicle. Then you'd need to get a license plate, safety inspections and all that crap. My bike does 19.8 mph (governor limit) on flat terrain and easily does well over 30 mph downhill (my town is pretty hilly). I can delete the governor on my bike if I wanted to by going into the settings on the control unit. Guessing it could probably get to 30-35 mph on flat terrain but I think 20 mph on a bike plenty fast enough.

I've dumped it twice already. Once last winter when I first got it and trying it out in the snow. It slid out from under me and I ended up in a snow bank. No harm, no foul. Another time, last spring, leaning into a corner and caught some sand and whoop... no traction. That one that one led to some road rash on my knees and elbows. I need to learn "tuck and roll" defense.

The local bike shop guy has a couple e-bikes. He claims one of them can get 50 mph. That's a bit too crazy of a speed for me on a peddle cycle.

When you go fast enough does your dress blow in the breeze like a French girl with a baguette and bottle wine in the basket?

You're gonna have to get a backpack, or maybe one of those bike strollers you can hitch behind it, like a mini trailer

Looks like this: https://lectricebikes.com/products/xp-step-thru-2-0-black

Them baskets will handle quite a bit. Couple people in the neighborhood have them and they say 20mph unassisted... 30 if you assist with pedaling. 20 is plenty good enough. Most everything I need is within 5 miles. Unless it's too hot, too cold or raining I'll probably use the bike.

Sounds like Bucky is the kind that gives bike riders a bad name. Cut corners, don't follow the rules of the road. etc

There are already a whole spectrum of people who don't want them on the road. I have had people actually throw a full can of coke at me at 50 mph and try to run me off the road for the fun of it. This kinda of chit makes it worse.

When did you turn 80?

Suppose you have to get the lawn in shape before your start yelling at imaginary children to get off it.

We don't have grass problems. Wife just said "We have snow on our lawn, so shut your cakehole." She followed up with "There is no crying in baseball." Cool

Good Thursday Morning! It's a clear and crisp 46° on the way to 54° today. Got the driveway cleared of leaves yesterday and enjoying coffee this cool morning as more leaves are falling to take their place.

Finally made it to some nice weather. Sunny and 60 degrees in Phoenix. Getting unloaded at the moment. Afterwards, it’s down the road to the Speedco for an oil change and lube. Then across the street to the Blue Beacon to get this pig washed up. It’s never been so filthy, but road salt and grime will do it. Once that’s done I’m supposed to be headed to Brawley, CA to pick up a load headed to West Palm Beach, Florida. Still waiting for that load confirmation though. If I get it I’ll be able to spend a day at home on my way east.

A 24 hour work week kicked my butt. Sore and tired today. Didn’t love driving a GMC Denali in the city of Milwaukee. Can’t imagine being a semi driver in that predicament.
Dog
Twenty degrees below normal. Time walk the soon to be Chilly 🥶 Dog.

If all possible I time it so I don’t drive through large metro areas during peak traffic times. In fact, usually I’ll take a mandatory break instead. No sense using 4x more time when I’m limited to drive hours and I’m paid by the mile.
