I work with the VA, and I can confirm that the systems they use are ridiculously outdated. All other healthcare organizations have switched to more modern system, but the VA is stuck in 2003 for some reason.

That’s bureaucracy for ya. So much red tape and signatures needed to make a change that nothing is ever done.

Thanks for the "INSIDE EMPLOYEE INFORMATION " Huzza...I..

Hey , RRR...

GET THIS VA BULLCRAP STORY...

WE applied for my mother to get her Korean wartime service benefits from my father who was in the marines then...it would pay $1,400 to her nursing home bills, which are $14,750 a month.

Yeaaaahhhh.... $14,750.00 a month.

Now here's the kicker !!!
That was in June 2019- December 2019...first application was not correct, corrected version started the retroactive C.L.O.C.K
...SO 24 MONTHS LATER....
NO DECISION FROM THE V.A. AT ALL....!!!
$1,400 X 24 MONTHS IS A SERIOUS CHUNK OF CHANGE.

( I SERIOUSLY think the FBI-SSG is behind some of this delay in answering us....they stole over $1,000,000.00 in cash from my house in 2013, never charged me with a crime and never gave it back to me either....they want me penniless and homeless....
Mom spent her entire life savings $450,000.00 and is now broke.
She needs that V.A. money badly...yet for some reason,???
The VA can't make a decision on her claim...
I doubt anyone has ever waited 2 freaking yrs on a decision that should take 6 months at best...there is a DUECE IN THE WOODPILE AND it is a very controlling and vindictive high up supervisor in the ruling echelon of the F.B.I. ...guaranteed)

They owe us $33,600 in retroactive payments that my father outright earned and died for....
He was at camp Lejeune from 51/52 to 54?
During the poisoned water years....
He died of pre Lukemia blood disease caused from BENZENE
EXPOSURE from that water....

Jonesy maybe try getting your Senator or Congressman involved. They can help you cut through the red tape. Year's ago MIL had issues with SS Benefits and at that time Congressman McDade got involved and issue was resolved quickly. Worth a try. Good luck.

They retroactively paid my grandpa for his hearing, and he was just trying to get hearing aids. They did ****** my dad around about an incident that happened when they lured him back for 2 years as they were short leadership. He got a tow missile tourret base dropped on his noggin. Years later he thought he had a heart attack but that incident had caused compressed neck disks that pinched a nerve bundle and simulated a heart attack. They said it never happened even though he’d gotten helicoptered out (29 Palms) and spent time in the infirmary. And his buddy got an accommodation for carrying him to the evac.

They were however very proactive for his hearing from his time aboard the USS Midway.

Depends, establishing is a bigger hurdle than ongoing so it’s a mixed bag. My step mom retired from our local VA and she hated dealing with them (for both my dad and her dad).

Congress should be forced to use VA healthcare, along with anyone promoting government run healthcare.

Jonesy, check with your state VA office. They maybe able to get things rolling on your mom's situation. I fought the VA for three years before getting my benefits. The only reason I got it then was our AL State VA Office. They should be located in the county court house. Good luck!

The VA is slower than molasses... going uphill... in the winter... horribly inefficient... and their default answer is no.

That said, the service I have gotten from them in San Diego was pretty damn good at the VA hospital there in La Jolla.

The hospital here is in Gainesville, and I haven't been there yet, but the clinic near me seems to be decent... once you can get an appointment. Like 6 weeks later.
