FGM: torpedo? Really? I think that's a great brew!

Mine: anything Yeungling. Distribution just hit New England, and this junky beer is taking over taps everywhere.

The fact that it's been hard to get does not improve the taste. Case in point: Coors Banquet Beer.

I remember when Coors was so hard to get (...at least in Hawaii..) and you could still hand-carry a case of beer onto a plane, anytime someone went to the Mainland and brought some back it was considered the nectar of the gods...my how tastes changed!

I remember many summer trips back from wyoming to texas with our feet resting on cases of coors on the floor of the family truckster...

TG - you are spot on! Although it's been ages since I had an original Primo, now that I pull those memory cells forward, yeah, it was quite nasty and Coors was smooth and went down much easier than the locally brewed swill.

Back in the early 80's I was stationed at Pearl Harbor.Being a young sailor I could swill just about anything.....Primo however was not one of them.I ranked it right up there with the Black Label I had tried to choke down when stationed up in Seattle.I would've given my left one for a Coors in either place.

Orange Stripe. Back in college. Right when "store generics" were getting popular. White can. Orange stripe on it. Roommate bought a case. No two cans tasted the same. The one consistent was that you had a splitting headache shortly after consuming one. I went back to the Hamm's we got for 65 cents a quart at the local C-store. Beer

When I used to work for Sony, I had the Navy Exchange as one of my accounts so who knows, mighta seen you! IIRC, I had the account from '83 to '84, were you still here?

Was that like the crap beer they sold at the Stoplight in Gitmo. I heard stories of it having been spiked with formaldehyde and/or long periods of storage in super hot warehouses or something. It's been a long time, but as I recall I never had much of a problem drinking more than my share.

Anyone remember the cattle trailers that used to swing by the EM club around 11:30 PM?

I am just aghast that someone would even intimate that Chimay wasn't a tasty beverage. Chimay Blue with a Bolivar Coffradia EMS is pure bliss....the dude must drink bud light in a can on special occasions.

I will add my two cents on anything brewed by Sierra Nevada is without a doubt....

82-84.......and I bought quite a bit of Sony equipment out of that very exchange.It was mixed and matched with Sony stuff I had bought in PI and Hong Kong.Ya never know now do ya............

Worst beer? One that stands out as being awful was blue moon white ipa. Knew a beer truck guy so we always got the leftover expired junk. I got like 10 cases of 24. They were really bad. Drank them all

I can drunk about anything but I usually just buy plain beer. Not too into all the hoppy stuff.
