UPS to USPS handoff in Illinois

Just a heads-up. If you live in Northern Illinois, and there is a handoff from UPS to USPS in Northbrook. There are unscrupulous workers stealing cigars. The handoff does not occur and if you don't catch it you are screwed for the cash. I lost over $800. Going to cancel my account here.

Did you file a claim with the carrier or the USPS? Or contact CBid to see what they can do?

UPS Tracking says delivered and gives a USPS Number. USPS number says never received. UPS won't allow a "SurePost" claim. USPS won't allow a claim they say they never received. CigarBid says they are "looking into it" but not calling me back and I am on hold with them again.

Yesterday, was notified the package was in Green Bay.

Willillinois, go to your local PO and ask about filing a complaint with the Postal Master.

I would like the option to upgrade delivery. I never had any issues with the UPS/USPS handoff other than delays. It can an extra 2-3 business days after handoff.

I get my orders sent to the office, and it appears that UPS just says "fuggit" and delivers it directly with no USPS handoff. I hate the handoff, because I hate the USPS.

But you seem like a good egg, so I’ll let you in on a little secret us long time forum members know. The owner of CBid is named Dave, and he likes helping us long time BOTL/SOTL when we occasionally run into an issue. Call (214) 914-3337 9-4 central and ask for Dave, tell Dave your friends with jaderose on CBid forum and let him know what issue you’re having, he’ll get you fixed up quicker than the shake of a lambs tail.

I had a similar thing happen with an amazon package. UPS didn't even have record of it and USPS said they never received it, but USPS tracking said they received it. I never did, nor was it tracked to my address. After the long fiasco with amazon/ups/usps, Amazon refunded me after I obtained a "Lost Package Affidavit" from USPS post office manager. I'd try that route with CBid... might work?
