Have not tried it. At $70+ a pop... and hearing it's nothing more than a gimmick... I was hesitant to buy it.

You like it, though... think I should give it a go? If I can find it in the exchange for cheaper (and no tax) I may try it. Think

I gifted Homer a bottle of the Ocean Voyage 4 for his surprise 60th birthday and he liked it. He’s bought other OVs since so there must be something to it. I did have a couple of shots of the 4th and there was a distinctive taste of the ocean. But, that’s the only OV I’ve tried; however, as a Navy man, that taste may bring back some fond memories so you might like that! Smile

So the only thing is each voyage is gonna taste different. I have only had 1 (voyage 19) that I didn't like. The others have been good. The best I had was voyage 14, the last one was voyage 24 and it is good. It is high priced, I think the idea of it is great but the unknown if it's gonna be a good one or not it's the risk. The regular Jeffersons reserve is great as is and cheaper.

^That's why I have been staying away. Cheno said he liked it and I know of others who did, as well as those who said "Meh, gimmick".

Figured WTF... I'll try it myself and decide what I think.

Poured a taste... sipped it neat. Not bad at all! With a small piece of ice it was even better.

Not worth $65 when I can get RRSB for $50... but it's pretty good.

Oops!

Saw Homer the other day and found out that he’s bought other Jefferson expressions but not another OV. I haven’t yet come to like the brand as much as others such as Four Roses, Elijah Craig, Blanton’s, Bookers, and Old Forester (…there are more but I don’t wanna sound like a lush Laugh …).

I do have a bottle of Jefferson’s somewhere deep in my main hard liquor area so gonna hafta dig for it.

How was this Spey? I found their regular (at costco) bourbon very pedestrian but heard good things about their rye.

Not sure, but this whiskey sucks and I’ve been struggling to finish this bottle for quite sometime…… if you like the flavor of licking the bottom of your mower after the first cut of spring this whiskey is for you. Blah

The Exchange had bottles of Elijah Craig Single Barrel (or Barrel Proof... says both on the bottle) for $72, Limit 1 per customer. So I had to grab one.

Also had WhistlePig 12, but I didn't get that one.

That is the only 4 💐I haven’t had.
The regular, is good.
Love the Small Batch.
Didn’t care for the Single Barrel. Too much molasses and a pruny taste.
