The fun and games of this has always been the passing . But the passing to the same person and picking them up multiple times makes no sense . That means you are going to send multiple packages to the same person . That’s stupid when you have to pay shipping for each individual box . I did not do that I was going to the PO and had smokes I was wanting to move cause they are old and someone needs to enjoy them. Some of the boxes were not even open. I did nothing wrong go back to page 172 and start reading from there . There actually is another noob pib that was created along the way. CONAN CAN YOU TOP THAT ONE.

As the recipient of one very large mother effing bomb, I’m happy to have been caught up in that whirlwind smack down. Is my storage obliterated? Smashed to smithereens? Blasted to kingdom come? Yup. Loving every minute of it too. And it has been a lot of fun even now seeing the shockwave still causing damage so many trades away from Ground Zero. I say let’s set DEFCOM 4.

I am mostly good w chaos, but we do need some structure . But I like passing my turn. I get to hit somebody vicariously without having to actually put a box together. It's very lazy, err, I mean "efficient.". I am nothing if not "efficient."

Anyways, thanks for the bomb Jeebs, I can’t imagine I’ll smoke through these for a couple years at the rate I smoke. Hell of a bomb, brother.

OBTW, did you get an alphabetical inventory w/that? Today while tidying up my explosives assembly area I found a list of smokes that were in alphabetical order. I hope I didn’t forget to put that in the box and you had a pain in the azz sorting it out.

I was gone for the weekend visiting DOD for father's day. Upon my return I found a box that weighs just a bit too much to be a simple nOOb hit, direct from B.21. Well, I opened it to find a nice hit of cigars along with a couple surprises. I'm thinking B.21 is pretty good at this trade/PIB stuff.

Details to follow when I get a list together

Let's get the damages from B.21 posted here. A great assortment of cigars and a couple add-ons

A bag of medium roast from "Death Wish Coffee Co. Well received to be sure. I love coffee and this promises to be a good cup.

A Xikar Eclipse lighter! Terrific and great timing. Carrillo logo (i like Carrillo cigars much). It's a nice triple flame pocket size. I really needed a good pocket lighter as my reliable ones are all table top lighters.

AND the cigars...

Ave Maria Argentum
Cohiba Nicaragua
Gurkha Class Regent - this looks like it might be a pretty tasty Gurk from a quick web look up
Hoyo de Monterrey excalibur
LGC Esteli
Mark Twain The Press No 3- this is a big 7x56 cigar
Nica Rustica - I have yet to try any Nica Rustica, but have wanted to
Punch Gran Puro - I think Punch cigars are solid
RP The Edge
RP No 6 - I've seen these often and look forward to a go
RyJ Reserva Real
San Cristobal Revelation - looking forward to this "Mystic" BP

Bill, this is really nice assortment of cigars that you've sent. Some I've commented on. Others I've known and enjoy.

Thanks for the cigars, coffee and lighter. I look forward much. How ya gonna beat Coffee and cigars? What a GREAT offering.

Box from Tiver landed! He has apparently been keeping track of sticks in my wheelhouse based off of posts in this forum. Here are the damages :

-Buffalo Trace (smoked one at the buffalo trace distillery, which isn’t too far from me. Great smoke)
-Camacho Corojo (NH)
-CAO Cameroon (NH)
-Carlos Torano Exodus 1958 (NH)
-CH La Careme (I’m always pumped to have more of these. It’s like smoking a snickers bar)
-Laranja Reserva (NH)
-MF Flor de las Antillas (Stellar smoke, the last one I smoked was fantastic)
-Oliva CT (great smooth Connie)
-Oliva Serie O (had one ROTT before, looking forward to trying another)
-Perdomo Champagne (great Connie)
-Plasencia Reserva Original (NH)
-Warped Corto (already have some resting, glad to have another!)
-Zino Platinum (also an old favorite)

I think the fact that you went through my previous posts to send me some old favorites makes the package even more meaningful. Thanks for the smokes, Greg. I look forward to them!

TIVER 18 JUNE ‘24

Tiver, you dropped a bomb on me. Seriously, these are cigars that I would select for myself. I’ve only tried a couple of these but I’ve never had them in these vitolas. I’m stoked with the Corona and Rothschild bag as I’ve been looking for these vitolas recently. Luckily, I haven’t pulled the trigger on any of these blends except the CH La Caréme and I have that in the Toro parked in storage awaiting cooler weather to come before I burn it. I intend to smoke a few of these right away. Thank you for another awesome box of smokes my brother from another mother.

Damage assessment, 16 spectacular cigars:
AJF San Lotano Requiem Maduro Rob
CAO Flathead 450 Sparkplug Rothschild
Carlos Toraño Exodus 1959 Rob
Crowned Heads Le Carème Rob
Crowned Heads Maduro Earl “Coronet”
Espinosa 601 Oscuro
Hoyt Quick Draw Corona
JdN Antaño Dark Corojo Rothschild, never seen this and it intrigues me
MF FdlA Sun Grown Belicoso
Oliva Master Blend 3 Rothschild I think
Oliva Serie O Rob
Padron Series 5000 Maduro Rob
Polpetta Rothschild I think
Ramon Bueso Genesis Oscuro Rob
Tat Havana VI Hermosos Rob
Warped Corto Rothschild I think

Some of the ones I identified as Rothschild may be Corona, my apologies to all you FOGs. The rest are Robusto. Tiver could be a mind reader. I’m truly excited to try these never-hads. Thanks again, Tiver for this thoughtful and generous gift.

Hey Colton,

Don't give me more credit than I deserve d'oh!

I do pay attention. Mostly I recall your commentary that your choice in smokes typically hovered in a range not too far either side of medium. I tried to go with connies, cameroon, corojo, habano to keep in line.

Hoping a NH or two hits the spot and glad some regulars are adding to your stock

Enjoy

CH Coronetta Maduro Earl (5 x 52) with thanks to Tiver.

Can’t think of a better cigar I’ve smoked this year. The Monte CC from Delta was awesome but in a different, lighter blend. The two aren’t fairly comparable.

(Post edit: Grab your Tele-nubber and your ballz, this is a fantastic cigar)

Never heard of this until Tiver mentioned it. It is a beautiful cigar with immaculate seems and no veins to speak of. It is firm in the hand but not brittle. One tiny indentation near the foot that was not mushy and presented no problems at all. The foot has a more fruity scent than the body, which has a curious “shop-like” smell that is pleasant. Cold draw tastes either like mild crabapples or cherries that are still firm. Kick off with some black pepper, maybe a hickory lick, and something fruity, floral and sweet. Excellent draw, perfect for my smoking preference. The cigar strikes me as a dry smoker and I like it that way. I’m a noob so I’m not sure if I’m identifying that dryness properly. 3 tokes in strong pizza crust, the brown bits that bubble up over the dough. Hickory smoke and pizza crust dominate, tiny edge of black pepper flavor with a gentle warmth on the backend roof of my mouth. This is mighty close in flavor to Tatuaje Black that has been aged properly for 6 or 7 years. I’ve installed my patented Tele-nubber early because I don’t want to goof it when the cigar wrapper is warm. Beginning transition to second third the Hickory is dominant but balanced, pizza crust is greatly diminished but has firm presence, discernible note of cocoa nib and scant hint of warming cinnamon enter the mix. Wow! The flavor of a jalapeño burned into pizza crust bursts onto the stage and steals the scene with mouth warming flavor. That alternates with a mix of bitter cocoa and orange peel. No salinity up to this point. Perfect burn line and impressive ash, cool smoker even though I’m abusing it. The sweetness of the dark and sticky MSA wrapper remains constant and on the low, no molasses or mineral profile whatsoever that I expect from MSA or the chewy Brazilian and C/PBL wrappers. There has been an elusive note in the retro which is just beginning to show a more creamy texture. The bitter side of roasted Chestnuts jumps in with more black pepper. Still in second third I’m getting hay on some of the draws, very mouth warming spicy effects. Entering final third suddenly need a minor touch up on burn line. Well into final third and the retro is an exhilarating burn. Flavors collapsing but there is burned brown sugar and burned Pecan with some Cedar. Finishing up in grand Ernest Perillo-Cortez fashion, the MSA burned sweetness is pretty much the only flavor, big and bold and stout, retro exquisitely singeing my nostrils. Thank you, Tiver! This was a fantastic cigar.

DT&T Polpetta 4 x 48 w/thanks to Tiver. (Worthy of patented Tele-Nubber)

Is this a Rothschild? Corona? Petite Corona? Absolutely stunning mottled ox blood CBL wrapper, basic sweet tobacco on the nose. Nothing in the cold draw but an interesting lighter colored cap has the mouth tobacco tasting mild and oaty. Kickoff with grilled meat and black pepper, oyster sauce. The MSA binder is not hidden behind the CBL wrapper, it is standing out loud and proud. The JR Cigar website says this nugget:
“Available in just one 4 x 48 vitola, the cigars are of made of mostly mixed filler tobacco cuts used in the brands bestselling Mi Querida, Mi Querida Triqui Traca, and Umbagog cigar lines. In addition to the table cuts, the blend also incorporates some long leaf filler, making for a much higher quality mixed filler blend”

Hard to believe this is mixed filler. Firm cigar, stiff ash, perfect burn line and draw. Harder yet to believe is the right down the middle “medium” this cigar is. Fair warning, it is sold as a full profile cigar. Second third, nice flavors with cocoa, earth, caramel popping in and out, but not overly sweet. The salinity is trying to break in but it seems like it’s having a hard go. Retro just now tingling and a bit of orange peel detected. Cool smoker even though I’m pushing it. Strength is building significantly towards full, back of throat and lips beginning to tingle. Final third getting a Cayenne sensation mouthfeel, charred meat and oak barrel. Good right to the nub. Total smoke time about 40-45 minutes. The Rojas breakfast tacos compare about $5.45 to the Polpetta’s $7.3 and the Sumatra taco is equally or more satisfying for me. The La Aurora Preferido prices are all over the place but on sale I can find them for less than $3. I love those. I realize that’s not a side by side price comparison. Polpetta is a good smoke but I probably won’t be buying them if I can still buy the others. Thanks for a good never had smoke, Tiver.

Polpetta is in the same vein as the Liga Papas Fritas. Mixed filler. Cuts from their premium and added long filler. Lots of brothers have issue with the prices and I might also. I did get these in a 5er for $25 and that was a great point to give it a shot. I posted simple impressions in the azzhats 1000000 thread that hit some of your points. I think they would benefit from a few months rest, but were not wasted on an immediate smoke. I think there's meat on them bones.

Overall i feel they are hiding a bit complexity that could mature with a little rest. I would buy again at $5ea

Esteban Carreras 187 Maduro Toro with thanks to CHENO

Never heard of this outside of the gift by Cheno.
Toothy Nic Maduro, it’s a Puro by AJF. Shiny and oily, streaked dark, flat veins and seems, smells like aged tobacco and a doughnut shop, chocolate on foot, not much on cold draw. Very earthy on kickoff with black pepper, leather and smidgen of anise. Easy draw. I expected more black pepper from AJF Nic but this was not homicidal. The burn line is self correcting but has my eye worried, foot throwing off a bit too much smoke for my liking. Nice mellow savory flavor and lemon balm on tame retro. Second third good balance of savory, sweet, salty notes. Cigar might be a tad under filled, throwing off a lot of smoke, smoke production on draw is variable and I need to keep after it or it tries to die on me. Final third, burn line still ugly but self-correcting, nice savory flavor but kinda monotonous. Black pepper conspicuously absent and retro is very mellow. Burn line required 1 touch up in final third, smoke production all but gone except from foot. Double bumping the draw at the nub I’m getting molasses, burned coffee, no salinity or minerals. Smoke time about an hour fifteen which seems kinda quick. I think the cigar may have been under filled and could have used another month at proper RH. The box this was in in March and April was around 70 to 72, since end of April around 64-66. It was a bit too moist, my fault. A good cigar w/potential, thank you, Greg.
