Lets keep talking about the cigar rating system.Maybe the webmaster could provide a field for us to vote on what kind of system we want.Example...we could take the top four systems and vote on them-CA clone,Smoke clone,1-10,1-5 etc.Any thoughts???

I like the CA system w/commentary. Ratings alone are worthless unless you have the ability to make some comments.

you have to have commentary, as these numbers thrown around for ratings can be so misleading, anyone notice how in Smoke for example, someone will say how nice a cigar is and give it a 3.5 while someone else in the same review will say they didn't really care for it and give it a 3.8. I also wonder about CA, on there ratings system if below a 70 don't waste your money, well have they ever rated anything below a 70? The way they describe some cigars they certainly should be below a 70, and I can name a number of brands I wouldn't waste my money on. Numbers alone says little.

I agree that the numbers alone don't say much. But who will write the descriptions? Will it be a list of what many people think as is this forum,or will it be one description based on many opinions and edited by the webmaster?I think that the latter is more concise and to the point. Will the webmaster be willing to do this if it is agreed upon?

I there should be an overall review of the cigars and we should also be able to link to other peoples comments...i.e. Winespectator or CA. Even Famous Smoke shop has a system where you can view other peoples comments and see the overall rating.

i find smokes reviews much better because you get many more categories of info...if you look at all of the categories you can generally see some unanimity among the reviewers though some aremore free with the extra high and extra low ratings...in that case i generally discount the radical standout in the group of reviewers...as for ca they seem to get it generally right but i have a hard time figuring out why and there are way too mid 80's cigars...so there
