My wife had a garage sale today (as part of the neighborhood garage sale) and being the packrat I said I had nothing to offer. She asks me about the closet literally full of empty cigar boxes. After a bit of hedging I agree to sell 50 of them, thinking I may get two bits a piece for them. Well my wife puts them out at a $1 to $2 a piece and people were going crazy over them, all sold but two of them, over $100! (most of the buyers were ladies, and my wife said they were buying them by the armful) That is good, but I agreed before hand if my wife did the work for the garage sale as I had to work, she could have all the proceeds, so that $100 that could have went for more cigars went in her pocket, fair enough. Anyway, am I missing something? Have any of you sold your old cigar boxes? If so, for about how much? This way I can be prepared for next years neighborhood garage sale.

I wish my girlfriend would sell some of mine, she has plants in some. candles in some. one by her chair for little things she does while watching tv. some hung on the wall side by side like a nic-nak shelf. just all sorts of things. I could always use an extra $100.00

My local cigar shop sells them for $3-$4 each. They go fast. I saw a Don Manalo box go for $8 at a local interior decorating store.

No I have never sold mine...I like hanging onto them but like you they build up and before long you are overstocked with little wood crates. A $100....hummmm. Might be worth the effort to buy one more box or so!

I have heard on good authority that these cigar boxes sell for between 2 and 5 dollars at flea markets. And, I understand it is women who are buying them. Go figure! Like buying a banana, throwing away the fruit and keeping the skin?
