I recently acquired a box of CAO Gold Robusto's. I found these little cigars quite pleasing and smooth. Good construction and wrappers are a pleasing gold natural that taste sweet to the tongue. Any thoughts from anyone who has had a similar or dissimilar experience.

I have tried a number of the CAO L'Anniversary (spelling) and also love these, the only fault is that the draw is too easy, and one should take tiny sips to avoid it burning hot. But these are very good cigars, and offered frequently on cigar bid.

I enjoy the L'Anniverio (sp?) much more than the Gold. The L'Anniveria Maduro's are quite potent and flavorful.....I agree with Aberdeen...one must take small sips.

The gold's are not a bad smoke. Any CAO annevers.. are better. Cameroon or Maduro. I can tell you this, prior to moving the production to Nicaragua, the maduros were absolutly perfect. Right after the move to Nick Perdomo's place I noticed a major decline in quality from these ciagrs. So much so, I wrote a letter to the Ozenger family. I went into great detail over the differences between the old and the new. One of my major complaints was that the new cigars were not rolled and box pressed properly resulting in quick, hot burns. The bottom line was, the new cigars sucked. To CAO's credit, they replied at great length and followed up on my concerns with detail. They even sent me new cigars to try. I waited a month or so for the inventories out in the market to deplete before buying again. Since then I have nothing but perfect cigars from Nick's factory. I say this because one, your comments are ironic and two, your bad experiences may have been during this time (DEC-MAR)Give em another shot. I am curious if your opinions change.
