I see the cosmic joke that DP was discussing.

Best of Breed eliminated by the worst of inbreed.

Looks like a natural pose, even without the bobcat.

While I have yet to see one I hear bobcats are making quite the comeback in So Mo and IL. Not sure if I would kill one or not. When I was a little kid we used to hear them at my grandmother's throughout the night. That was down on the MO AR border.

A few years ago bobcats were removed from Illinois' list of state threatened species. They claim there are a couple thousand in So IL and more in MO.

Dr. P You see, there are three types of people. D#*ks, pu$$ies and a-holes. Pu$$ies think everyone can get along. And D#*ks just wanna screw all the time without thinkin it through. Then you got your a-holes, Dr. P. All the a-holes want is to shiite all over everything! So sometimes pu$$ies get mad at d#*ks once and a while, because pu$$ies get screwed by d#*ks. But d*#ks also screw a-holes, Dr. P, and if they didn't, you know what you'd get? You'd get your d#*k and your pu$$y all covered in shiite! "

grmcooper - Great kill! If you don't mount it I will! I have heard them in the woods at night, but I have not seen any yet. I did have a foam deer target that got tore to shreds one night in my backyard. I'm thinking that one of these had something to do with it.

Everyone looks at things differently but that just makes me sad. A critter has to be doing some pretty bad stuff before I'm going to kill it if I can't/won't eat it. And I am a hunter as well.

I love those wild cats. Seems kind of like killing a hawk or an eagle. Never have liked the idea of killing other predators. We have too much in common.

Hey if I saw one in the wild I wouldn't shoot it either but if I saw it on my property it's a dead cat period.

Beautifully said Hoyodude.

There is something empowering that comes over people when they chose to save lives or help others.

The same way, there is something that dies inside man, when we kill something that is like us.

Or you could say we are probably not alive if we cant identify with greatness.

I guess losing chicken is a lot worse for some hoity-toity folks.

Nice to see some inbred dude holding a beautiful creature like that. You must have felt like a real man!
Small d*ck sydrome I'd say :-)

Hunting for food, population control....I can see that. But this? Just pure macho stupidity that makes me ashamed of the human race.

The guy might even dine on Friskies for all I know and the cat was edging in on his dinner. Who knows?

Anyway, the look on this guy's face is a tell-tale sign of his place on the food chain.

Sorry if this is harsh, but the killing of such a beautiful creature sickens me to my soul.

Its is sickening and he needs to realize. Not the needless killing, but his need to exhibit it. Which to me shows the color of his heart.

If he had a fur bearing hunting license , or it was legal action on his part, then what's the problem.

There is much less trapping these days, which means the predator animal populations are rebounding very quickly. I'm not advocating bounty on these animals. But at the same time I don't think less of anyone that participates in hunting predator animals "LEGALLY".

Im sorry if i struck a nerve with some of the posters.
I guess when you have never lived in the country you wouldnt understand. Id rather be holding this cat than holding one of my children that had been attacked by it. I dont go looking for these to kill but when they kill chickens or calves out the back door (I) dont want my kids out there!! Like i said sorry about the post.

Well mrs.tank,
I would be a pretty ignorant parent if I thought my kid was going to be safe because I have killed the last Bobcat....true of my pets as well.

I would take the money it cost to have the cat stuffed and get good fencing or not leave my kids unsupervised.

Deer alone could kill them

Re:#29 -- "I guess when you have never lived in the country you wouldnt understand."

Well, I know you aren't talking to me as I was raised a good part of my life in the "country". We rasied all kinds of livestock and when I had trouble with a weasel I built a better chicken coop! Imagine that, a big dumb human outsmarting a critter like that!

Show me a case where a bobcat has endangered a human and I'll show you a human who is either behaving stupidly or ignorantly.

You guys are absolutely ridiculous.

The guy posts a picture, you guys attack him personally, calling him inbred and stupid...

He comes back and actually APOLOGIZES for offending some of you (I'd have told you to go choke on a d*** in a box) and you continue to berate the guy.

Un-f***ing-believable.

Check this out.
http://www.cuddebackdigital.com/pages/pows/week_70.html

I manage 250 Acres of woodland in Northern Wisconsin. I hunt deer and know that management of wildlife if an important part of living up here. 9 wolves were killed this hunting season, which puts a dent in the DNR efforts to reintroduce the predator to help cull the deer herd. The fact is, people are here to stay and we have to take over the role of predator sometimes. Everyone will have different opinions here, but I would be interested to find out just what people from PETA and other "animal rights" groups would do instead? Do they realize that overpopulation leads to disease, starvation and suffering? An animal, such as that bobcat is a lovely creature, but once an animal has crossed paths with civilization, that animal has changed forever. The bobcat saw livestock as a foodsource and once that decision is made, the animal must be destroyed or captured. Since we do not live in a Disney movie, the first option is the most practicle.

I am not a fan of hunting simply for sport, but I hope some of the folks who spoke out here can see that there are times when killing a wild animal is necessary, even when it is we who have encroached on its territory. Life can be harsh folks, but do not blame this guy for all of that.

Peace.

Darbarian - I think that f**king moron jbu thinks we should put condoms on the deer. I bet he thinks that we should pay our conservation police to inject birth control into the food source. The simple point is you can't get through to these idiots. They are so blinded by a false reality that they can't and won't ever see through it.

I totally agree with MACS - why should this guy say sorry to a bunch of pansy as* libs. The someone's who love our freedom, but would never break a sweat to save it.

We would not have a problem with deer if we did not kill all thier predators......You dumb Hick!

People offered serious advice here how to build a better chicken coup.

Spend the money on your kids education instead of the taxidermist. They will suffer worse under ignorance than any bobcat. Lets put it this way, they would not have to keep chicken in their yard.

Besides I am all for hunting deer.

VERY Sad...

jbu - You truly sound like a fool. I hope your just a little kid playing on dads computer, because if you are an adult you have to sign up for some special ed classes. Your facts are way off and every time you post you look like a bigger and bigger fool. Tell me Mr. Conservation how many deer are out there right now? Also while your at it why don't you give me all the facts you currently know about bobcat and whitetail deer habitat. The fact is you no nothing about this guy or where he lives. You want this guy to build a prison for his chickens in his backyard. You are a true moron. I have a feeling you weigh about 110lbs and you drive a little convertible that says "ISWALLO" on the license plate. Stick with what you know - Dora the Explorer is on cable right now and if you hurry you can catch the last 30 minutes or so.

Darbarian -

"I am not a fan of hunting simply for sport, but I hope some of the folks who spoke out here can see that there are times when killing a wild animal is necessary,...."

I agree completely. I guess what bothers me is this mentality of killing just to kill. Maybe this guy had what he thought was a good reason to kill this cat. Maybe he tried other methods before resorting to this final option. I'm thinking, with the look of this picture, the bravado displayed, maybe that's not the case. Why is killing this cat something to boast about?

Many people desparage our southern brothers for being crass, inbred rednecks and, while there are some who resemble that remark, I can tell you the south has no corner on that market. I live on the edge of the NY Southern Tier and will vouch that hillbillies are everywhere. These dudes just love nothing more than shooting thier guns and aren't too particualr about what they shoot at. It is something they get an incredible amount of joy trumpeting about. As if it makes the size of thier genitals swell with each telling.

In the end, as I said, I support hunting as long as ethics are applied and that includes being judicious about what we kill and why we kill it.

Life, all life, is precious. Some of it is worth taking because it helps the population of that species. Some because it causes undue hardship to hardworking humans.
I prefer to kill something that will feed my family in the most healthy and natural way.

If you want to call me soft (or worse as the case may be) or paint me with whatever brush is handy to you, feel free.

Also by chance did you see Darbarian post at all?

http://www.cuddebackdigital.com/pages/pows/week_70.html

Now picture the size of that deer.. then look at the size of your children then picture yourself taking your family on a picnic.. although as stated if you keep a good eye on every move your children make.. there is nothing to worry about...

well these Cats don't know the difference between doe meat or children meat.. they only sense the weakness of their pray...

Hog make no mistake, I do more than my part of protecting this country and our freedom.

Yes I know what Bobcat are capable of. Its even worse with Mountain Lions. We dont kill off all the mountain lions, we keep our kids away. Because it would be fool hardy to believe that your kids wont be attacked by another bobcat.

I never understood what having it mounted had to do with child safety.

hoyo - I've never understood why guys brag about pro-sporting teams like they have anything to do with their success. Also I've never understood why a guy has to act like getting par on a golf coarse is a big deal. My point is some guys golf, hunt, fish, hike or whatever we all have things we like to brag about.
