Just got some Cubans from Mexico.....put them in the Dor' to age. Every time I get my hands on some I am like a kid at Christmas time...I know some of you can relate. Give me some feedback and tell me I am not a compulsive....Got some Cohiba Lonsdales and some Romeo y Julieta's coronas!!!

Same..I know exactly how you feel. Just loaded a box of Cohiba Siglo III's into my humidor. Sometimes I open it just to look at them.

I am happy for you. I just finished reading an article on Cuban Fakes in Mexico. Not saying you got fakes there are good Cubans there. Just letting everyone know to be carefull when buying in Mexico.

I have to agre with the boss... be careful, especially in Mexico! Buy only from Habanos certified retailers! I do the same thing... I love to stand and stare at them just like they were babys sleepin' in a crib.

Yes I know......I checked the band to make sure there were four rows of square white blocks total and just two above name...but you know what....what happens when these guys get legitimate labels and put them on a bunch of crap....unless you know the taste and flavor of the real thing you could be screwed again!

that's exactly the hope of the counterfeiter, that you don't recognize it as a fake by the taste. Even non Cuban cigars are being counterfeited now, like Padrons. I get my Cubans from a friend in Europe from an established tobacconist. Also remember the Cubans change the box codes frequently, so just because yours may not match the latest codebreak in itself doesn't make it a fake. But I so much agree with the person above, I love taking the boxes out of the humidor and just take in the incredible aroma and dark red wrappers just begging to be smoked, my mouth is watering as I write. But if you are in a foreign country and just not sure, I would avoid buying Cohibas as these are by far the most counterfeited cigars.

Aren't we guys an incredible bunch? Myself being a newcommer to the world of cigars, I totally relate to what you all say. At this time I'm waiting to get my first Humidor by mail, but have set up various "surrogate" ones in the meantime (one Tupperdor and a couple of boxes with H-units), and I can't stop myself from opening them from time to time just to smell them and fundle a couple before closing the box again. Then sitting down at my PC to get more from this site.

I've had good and bad cubans, the good ones came from Mexico from a certified retailer. The price was the same as buying a good Fuente in this country. I have a niece who lives in spain and sent me a couple of Romeo & Julietts #2 that were terrible! Too tightly rolled,plugged, I just threw them out. A young guy who works for me has a brother who played in a basketball tournament in Cuba, he brought me a box of Cohiba, they were dried out; I tried one which was excellent and put the rest in my tobacconist's walk-in for restoration. All in all I believe a good Dominican is as good as a good Cuban.

I live around Detroit so it is only a 20 min drive to a certified Habonos dealer in Windsor, Canada. My personal favorite is the Hoyo Epicure #2. Bought for $19.00 ea. Recently on a trip to Hong Kong the same cigar was $12.00. I think the oily/silky wrapper is what makes these cigars and other Cubans stand out from the rest. From time to time I have extras so I would be interested in working out a trade for some other cigars I have not been able to get. Post message if interested

As noted many times above.... absolutley be careful from who you purchase Cubans in Mexico. I only purchase from Casa del Habano in TJ, etc and Habana Cabana in Ensenada. It amazes me how all the lil stands in the remotest of areas are selling "Cubans"
