From the shapely, Spanish box-pressed frame to the ornate band, the appearance presents expectations that the vintage tobaccos utilized to craft San Miguel fulfill, and then some. A gorgeous Ecuadorian sun-grown wrapper glistens with oils on the outside, while a carefully blended mixture of aged, long-leaf tobaccos marries within. Cuban-seed long-fillers from the Jamastran Valley of Honduras mingle with Nicaraguan long-fillers grown in the black, volcanic soils of Esteli. These bold tobaccos are then combined with proprietary leaves grown on the Nicaraguan island of Ometepe, a volcanic island known for the dense, earthy tobaccos it provides. After extensive post-roll aging, San Miguel evolves into a luxurious, complex, medium-bodied cigar. A hearty core of cedar and cream is complemented by hints of earth, pepper and sweet tobacco throughout the slow burn.
