Joya de Nicaragua enjoys a long and storied history. This well-known brand was first introduced in the 1970s, and instantly became one of the hottest cigars on the market. Known for its full and robust Nicaraguan flavor, JDN was the first Nicaraguan-made cigar exported to the United States and quickly climbed the charts as one of the world’s finest - it was actually the oh-ficial cigar of the United States White House. Due to civil war, production ended and the brand took an unfortunate hiatus from the market. It’s been back for some time now and it’s burning better than ever, and the Clasico is a fine example of mellow Nicaraguan goodness.
JDN Clasico is available in two varieties, each of which is chock full of aged Nicaraguan long-fillers. The Nicaraguan Criollo is rich in character with a bold, spicy core. The lighter, Claro variety employs a silky Connecticut shade wrapper to promote a smooth and creamy bouquet.
