La Aurora Barrel Aged pays homage to an old Cuban tradition, one that La Aurora has already utilized on its high-end Preferidos, Cien Anos, and Don Fernando blends. The art of aging tobaccos in oak barrels. Indeed, every leaf used to create Barrel Aged is aged for a minimum of 4 years in old Dominican rum oak barrels. This process provides an ideal environment for the tobaccos, allowing them to capture a uniquely rich and sweet flavor. La Aurora Barrel Aged employs a dark and oily Dominican Corojo wrapper that has been extra-fermented, giving it a nice maduro hue. Inside, a flavorful mixture of Dominican and Nicaraguan long-fillers. The result is delicious and medium to full-bodied, unleashing a smooth array of toasty, rich nuances including tobacco, wood, and a gentle sweetness mixed with pepper.
