The 30th Anniversary commemorates the life’s work of Manuel Quesada. In 1974, the MATASA Cigar Factory opened, producing the Dominican-made version of Fonseca, a legendary Cuban brand with a huge following. Capturing the essence of Cuba, Manuel designed an incredible (and legal) handmade that everybody could savor. Now, over 30 years later, his once small factory has grown into a finely tuned machine, routinely pumping out delicious blends that capture the hearts and palates of the cigar world, including Fonseca, Cu-Avana, Licenciados, Cubita, Nat Sherman and many, many more.
Perfectly balanced, this anniversary cigar issues a full-bodied smoking experience layered with bold, buttery-smooth flavors. Wrapped in a luscious Dominican Olor leaf that’s oily to the touch, Manuel combined a healthy portion of Cuban-seed ligero from the Dominican with a single leaf of Cuban-seed ligero from Nicaragua. These tobaccos, which were cultivated in 1995, marry to promote a complex flavor that builds into a satisying finish, complementing the chewy richness of the wrapper quite well. A masterpiece, from one of the industry’s true legends.
