La Aurora proudly stands as the Dominican Republic's oldest and longest running factory, among all industries let alone premium, handmade cigars. For well over a century, this veritable fortress has been producing some of the world's finest super-premiums. Despite a healthy portfolio of finely-tuned cigars, it is the Preferidos line that reigns supreme. Considered a masterpiece, each Preferidos is crafted in a small, separate factory in true old Cuba fashion, by one dozen master rollers, using the factories finest, oldest tobaccos. These tobaccos have been aged for at least 4 years, in many cases much longer, with a significant portion of this time being spent in aged rum barrels. After rolling, each Preferidos is put to rest for additional aging, a minimum of 6-8 months in the Aurora aging vaults.
The 91-rated Preferidos Ecuador is luxurious, utilizing a toothy Habano sun-grown wrapper from Ecuador. Beneath this leaf, a choice Dominican binder secures a full-bodied blend of prized long-fillers from the Dominican, Cameroon, and Brazil. The smoke is bold yet balanced, yielding a toasty core of cedar and oak complemented by coffee bean, nuts, earth, and sweet spices. Complex and powerful yet graceful to the nub, these intriguing flavors are delivered in elegant fashion, completing a full-bodied work of art sought by many and savored by the most discerning palates.
Each bid is for one (1) single cigar.
