I love almost everything Oliva, so, I look forward to these as well.
That said. Why a sequel? Why can't these companies have the guts to let a fine creation stand on it's own without some bizarre story that could make one forget that it is a cigar they are talking about? I mean, The serie V is a fine cigar. Why market something that may or may not live up to the mettle of this established favorite. Seems like a major gamble from a marketing standpoint.
These had better be real damn good, at that price point. |

I see it comes in a PC........................................Any cigar maker that puts together a corona or PC in their initial offering has my attention.Definately giving this line a go.

Oliva Serie V Melanio The new cigars are made entirely of Nicaraguan filler and binder tobaccos grown by the Olivas, and they are wrapped in Sumatra-seed wrappers grown by Oliva in Ecuador. This is the first cigar Oliva has made using these particular wrappers, and the first Ecuador Sumatra seed cigar from the company other than the Oliva Master Blends 2. |

So, did they run out of the tobacco the V's are made from, or did they just arbitrarily decide to eliminate the best cigar they've made to date from their offerings? If it's the latter I hope they don't screw it up. The V is one of my favorites, I'd hate see it become something different. Why not keep the V as is and call the new release something else? Looks like they're just trying to piggyback off of the V's good reputation. No need for Oliva to have to do that. Oliva's general reputation is anough to create interest in a new release. Just my $.02, but would love it if someone in the know could explain what Oliva is really doing and why. |

I don't think they will get rid of the original V. Just make a new blend to shine along side the original. If that's the case I won't be complaining. I agree with many the V is a hell of a stick with a great price tag! |
