Really..?? I thought implying the POTUS didn't give a chit was... Mellow

Plenty of soldiers have died while POTUS was on the golf course over the years. Why bring that chit up? So, you honestly don't have anything better to say about the death of four US Servicemen than to politicize the matter. Rethink your priorities!!

Afraid he was late to that party....Trump already politicized it first. Besides, complaining about presidents golfing is a time honored tradition...here and elsewhere....I didn't see anyone bitching about priorities when folks complained that Obama golfed on Veterans Day...or Memorial Day..or both?

Trump posts here..?? Huh

I never complained about Obama playing golf. I get it, I'd rather be playing golf too.

I'm not about to start complaining about Trump playing golf either... you can only understand if you play golf yourself.

I'm guessing sombrero doesn't play golf.

Any number of things can happen while the President is playing golf, you can't cry about them all... well, I suppose you can if you want, but it's not going to do anyone any good.

I don't know about the Obama years as I wasn't active here, but I'm quite sure that there was a lot of moaning then as well. My comment about priorities would have been the same then as now. The fact that someone else did something back when doesn't make it any more palatable to me now regardless of the side of the aisle you're on.

I don't disagree. And I don't pretend to understand xibb's meaning or complete intent...or his priorities.

I did assume that it was at least a little bit related to Trump's news conference about the subj the other day....he appeared defensive and then ....political...and then made **** up.

I do agree that unscripted Trump 'event' was unpalatable enough as to warrant a thread...or two, even

And, more important: I have pretty much given up golf for fishing. Soooo much more relaxing...usually

Understood. But if we started a "thread or two" each and every time Trump said or did something stupid, we'd have no room for cigar discussions. horse Herfing

I've gotta one up you, here, Dave... I started with fishing, and have never played golf.

Fishing is awesome.

Wasn't George W reading to kindergarten children when they crashed planes into the Twin Towers?? Think

I don't blame any president for what they're doing at the time tragedy hits. There's a lot of random things a world leader is expected to do, and at any time a disaster can arrive.

Now... some disasters are a bit more expected than others... if part of your country is going to be hit by a hurricane, you probably shouldn't be playing golf the day of landfall (I am not saying this occurred, I'm just saying if this or any other president chose to play golf on the day a hurricane hit US soil, they're probably doing something wrong).

And, more importantly, after the disaster hits a president should be working to fix it or do presidential things. Prioritizing golf over a response to dead troops is probably not smart....

On the plus side we hhave taken Raqqa and Mosul so C-in-C has been doing something right on the military front.

He got a lot of flak for it from both sides and later stated he should have returned.

Meanwhile... I'm glad to see you giving trump a lot of crap for not even addressing the troops killed in Niger until something like 10 days later... In those 10 days he went golfing with Lindsay Graham on the 9th and the 14th....

I'm glad you're concerned about this. Right?

It does appear someone is doing some work in the area, despite idiocity at the top. But that's been the case with either dem or rep presidents.

Pretty sure Iran is keeping Syria to themselves... Letting that JV team run wild then letting Russia take over wasn't a good move.. Mellow

Just curious, but why were the troops killed in Niger more important than troops killed elsewhere?

It just seems logistically inefficient to drop what you're doing every time some dead troops come home.

I might be a little insensitive here, but I don't know the rationale behind it.

I also admit, I haven't researched this particular case.

Wow, a working game instead of working on one's handicap.

By the way, not as concerned now that Barry O is no longer in office and the Queen was not elected.

I TOLD you the Kenyan King was putting troops in almost every nation in Africa. Did anyone listen?

Look at how they want to politicize the deaths of soldiers. It's enough to make the average citizen barf that understands what's going on. Look, we get it...the Left is going to do and say ANYTHING...even lie if they have to but to put a widow, while grieving in the middle of this? Its a new low. I really don't care what side of the aisle you come from, but when the President calls you to say his condolences...you don't make a deal about it like that embarrassment of a congressman from S. FLA and yes, even the widow. You thank them for acknowledging the service and the price paid. The man gave his life for doing his job, at least honor that. As for the he said, she said B$...it's a travesty. I personally believe it's wrong for her to do this. Even if you're diametrically opposed to everything the guy is he is STILL the President of the United States of America. The current President doesn't make it a habit to bad mouth the military, law officials or those doing their job to the utmost of his ability. This is one area, I believe he does take seriously in the job. I don't care what you or others think about it either. I really don't think he spoke with malice as he had people in the room with him while he was on the phone. The cowboy'd up idiot in sequins is playing the grieving widow like a fiddle and it's just sad.
