Didn't think anyone listened to Kim Simmonds any more?
Applause ThumpUp

as of 2015 Kim Simmonds and Savoy Brown were still together.....and making albums, they put out two albums in 2015,a Live compilation and a studio album called "The Devil to Pay", which reached number four on the US Billboard Top Blues Albums......

http://www.wow.com/wiki/Savoy_Brown........lots of info here......Savoy Brown went through 32 different lineups since 1965.......a veritable who's who in the Blues Rock genre, including one of my favorites, (I reserve the right to claim a different favorite in the future)lol, Lonesome Dave Peverett, of Foghat fame
Thanks for this......by looking this up I learned many things......I love music trivia and I now have a truckload of new trivia questionsBeer

A comp called "Long Cuts." Put together with those early college days / nights in mind, cruising in the car or in someone's dorm and just chilling to the music

Glad -Traffic
Can You See Him - Batdorf & Rodney
The City - Mark - Almond
Down By the River - Neil Young
Loan Me A Dime - Boz Scaggs
Time Waits For No One - The Rolling Stones
The Treasure (Take One) - Stephen Stills
Nobody's Fool / El Tonto de Nadine, Regresa - Poco

Shawn - Poco was the forerunner of The Eagles. Randy Meisner, the original bassist for The Eagles, was also Poco's bass player.

Somebody Loan Me a Dime........great song incredible piano by Barry Beckett and the slide guitar by Skydog......I first heard this in 1977 or so on 8-track and loved it, then it kinda slipped from my mind as the 8-track wore out, then about 8 or so years ago I found it in a yard sale bin for a dollar.......one of the best dollars I ever spent!!!Beer

I have a friend who is the lead guitar/vocals for a local blues band, The Kan-Tu Blues Band......they will play this whenever I show up at a gig....he usually will announce it as "I just saw Rick walk in a few minutes ago and know he loves this song, so here it is, "Somebody Loan Me a Dime, just for Rick......I hope the rest of you will enjoy it too"
Love it=d> =d> =d>

You still had a working 8-track player?

I "discovered" the Boz Scaggs album around '71 or so. We started getting into the Allman Brothers and learned more about Duane's session work and kinda stumbled onto the album and song. For years I would only pick out LMAD for mixed cassette tapes (...and later, mixed CDs...). I can't remember the last time I listed to the whole album in one sitting.

In Concert, Disc 1

Before VCRs, MTV, cable television, the Internet, DVRs, YouTube, etc., you had to actually watch TV programs when they were scheduled to air. Back in the middle-ish '70s, the ABC network started a Friday night, taped live performances of popular musical acts, show. It was simply called "In Concert." I often planned my night around the show and watched many of them. A few years ago, I came across some bit torrents of these shows, downloaded them and put together 3 discs of my favorite artists and shows. Although I haven't listened to these in a few years, tonight was Disc 1's chance to relive those long ago Fridays from 1973. The artists on this disc:

Jim Croce
Doobie Brothers
B.B. King
Mahavishnu Orchestra
J. Geils Band
Albert King
Dr. John

Oh, to be 18 again....

Pensive mood....the philosophy of Neil Peart.....

Waiting for the winds of change
To sweep the clouds away
Waiting for the rainbow's end
To cast its gold your way
Countless ways
You pass the days
..
You don't get something for nothing
You can't have freedom for free
You won't get wise
With the sleep still in your eyes
No matter what your dreams might be

I will choose a path that's clear
I will choose freewill

It seems to me
I could live my life
A lot better than I think I am
I guess that's why they call me
They call me the working man
