I would be great-full for sure! I am still tending the bald spot from last time and the Rogaine is not working. Do you know how embarrassing it is to be in Walmart and all the 6 year old kids going "Look Mommy, that midget bear has alopecia!" and all the moms going "Baby its not nice to point and stare!" and me thinking, If y'all little MF's knew how I got this damn bald spot.Blink I mean, brother, I am starting to feel like Butters in a South Park episode.

Took a nap, shoveled the snow, and did some grocery shopping (chickns on sale 0.79/lb)

Meijer store by me put a ton of Lego sets on clearance this morning according to a deals page on Facebook or Reddit or somewhere I saw so I stopped there and they had about half the sets on the shelf on clearance. But they were all gone.

Been trying to go through the boys lego bins and organize / separate pieces back into sets. We're constantly adding but his small shelf of Lego cars n trucks never gets filled. But the Rubbermaid totes are full. I'd estimate a conservative 20,000 pieces.

It's been a challenge.

Got 5 instruction books out this morning, about 1500 pieces worth. Yesterday we only did 3, and didn't finish any. But I'm hoping as I segregate pieces to their sets that the piles will shrink and it'll get easier. Put up another shelf in the basement to put completed stuff on.

Smoked chicken shredded on rice and a chicken caesar salad.

That was a very cold and reasonably unproductive trip.

The main house we were going to buy got an offer in the day before we saw it.

It's in bad shape though, so it may not pass inspection. So we put ourselves in as an all cash backup offer. It's probably going to take about 75k to remodel, but it's a block from the University. So should be worth it.

You should have went a day earlier. Anxious

Well, the wife decided she was going to cook tonight. Its looking like country style steak and gravy with tatters.

I decided I was cooking tomorrow night in spite of this cold ass weather, Having the wife go to the butchers shop at the Piggly Wiggly to pick up some beef bone. I will be throwing the bone in the pressure cooker over night to make my base. Once that is done the bone comes out and in goes some beef and lots o veggies in to the pressure cooker to make some true homemade vegetable soup. Also a cake of homemade cornbread cooked in the oven in the wrought iron pan. Not none of that boxed sweet chit she calls cornbread.

My mother sent me an instant pot for Christmas. I am really loving this thing because it cuts off on its own. (fixes Ewok from burning down the house due to no memory!)

All I use on it is the pressure cooker and sometimes the searing option. The food comes out just like the old school pressure cookers that required the weights.

So far I have cooked a chuck shoulder, BBQ ribs, made some pintos using dried beans, Protabella mushroom soup, french onion beef stroganoff, Homemade Chili, Meatloaf and taters, Lemon Pepper chicken and tomorrow night homemade vegetable beef soup.

This thing is a God send. Cooking times are cut in half from the regular stove and oven, Ewok got some freedom back and can cook now with out having to worry about burning the house down, I can help the wife out, (bless her, she has now split the week with me so she can sleep while working) which gave me some of my dignity back! And, the food is so tender and has that what I call " Old School Country Flavor. But, more importantly, I can now quit having to eat out of a box or can all the time. I was starting to feel like a miniature horse with a food bag strapped to my face.

Oh, the one thing that did piss the wife off is, When she cooks most of the time there is left overs, when I cook everyone in the house cleans out the pot and she has noticed. Womens I swear! I told her I can not help her mom did not teach her how to cook unless it came from a box or a can but I would be happy to teach her. That was the way wrong thing to say. Brick wall

Chris - do beans cook well in the instant pot? I've always done cast iron kettle or crock pot for mine, takes 8-12 hours. Would consider buying one if for beans alone. Wife hates when I cook, so when I'm doing a long cook like that I'm stuck doing it in the garage or out in the camper overnight.
292. Author: RMAN4443Date: Mon, 1/21/2019, 11:17PM EST
Dan, I've got an instant pot....dried beans take about 45 minutes to cook, plus about an extra 15 minutes on each end for pressure up, and pressure release...time varies 10 or 15 minutes plus or minus depending on the type of beans....hour and a half max fromstart to finish
