R.I.P Eddie.

I somehow managed to see Eddie Money 3 times in concert. The last time, he played a small theater in the town I lived in and needed a local female singer to perform the Ronnie Spector part in "Take Me Home Tonight". My now ex-wife was singing in a local band and is a damn good singer so the promoter asked her if she could do it. Of course, she said yes. So yeah...I got to see my wife sing with Eddie Money. She said he was a jackass. Oh well. He may have just been reacting to her...lol. I always liked him. RIP EM.

His family was NYPD. I believe he was even a cop, briefly. 70 is pretty young, man.

Rest in Peace, Mr. Mahoney.

I remember when his first album came out in the late-70s. Always liked his music. RIP Eddie.

Now... allow me to allude to Mr. 8trackdisco's thread about retirement...

Retire as soon as you can, folks. Tomorrow is not a promise.

Live like there's a limited number of tomorrows... because there is a limited number.

Ed Zachary... we gotta go, eventually. Catch as many fish as you can before that day comes.

Ironic how he dies of throat cancer and it was his gutty, gritty voice was what made him.

Retirement is fine. Heaven is better. Working myself to death is still the default plan. I'm ahead of schedule.

The other option to retirement is finding a job you love like Eddie did and doing it until the day you die.

I like that you said 70's was pretty young, but I think it was Eddie Rabbit that was NYPD.

Both were NY based, not sure who was NYPD involved, both are gone and the Money duo with Ronnie was unforgettable.

“Eddie Money served in the capacity of a police trainee,” Sgt. Mary Frances O’Donnell told The Post. “He was never appointed to the rank of Police Officer. The NYPD offers their condolences to his family.”
