Cigar film in your mouth
1. Author: redisalreadytakenDate: Sun, 1/19/2020, 3:51PM EST
Somewhat new to cigars, but have really taken a liking to them.
Don't really have any buddies that smoke.
A single premium cigar will leave a taste in my mouth that can last for three days.
No necessarily a bad taste, but one that is hard to ignore.
Is this just me, or does everybody get this?
Thanks for your time and input here.

If you don’t like the taste, a condom may help.

This is probably a legit question/concern that deserves some legit advice from somebody who actually thinks about such things. No doubt there will be some concerned and knowledgeable vets on here before long to advise you on their favorite toothpaste.

I hope your second post isnt about the smell of your clothes.

Thanks for putting a weird thought in my head that I cant get rid of.

BTW, Gurkhas aren’t a premium cigar regardless of the marketing hype.

Let’s not forget that in 1972 a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire the A-Team.

Normally I’d roast you for lofting up that fat softball Red...........but I’m feeling magnanimous today.

The most likely culprit?
Mediocre cigars...........or crappy cigars.

Smoke a good cigar, and see if that “taste” lingers.

Some folks are spitters and some are swallowers...……...be a swallower Red

Try narrowing it down to which cigar(s) are leaving a lingering taste. Also try cleansing your palate with a beverage of your choice while enjoying your cigar. You may need to kill more taste buds by smoking more. Whistle

Welcome to the madness!

A young man goes into a bar and says, "Barkeep, give me five shots of whiskey!"

The bartender says, "All at once?" and the man nods.

The bartender sets up all five, and asks what the occasion is. The young man says, "My first B.J."

The bartender smiles and says, "Well in that case, let me add a sixth shot, on the house!"

The young man shakes his head and says, "Look barkeep, that's nice of you, but if five don't get the taste out of my mouth, a sixth won't help either!"

Is this the bother's first post?

What is "premium" cigar?
18. Author: redisalreadytakenDate: Mon, 1/20/2020, 12:10PM EST

I would have thought cheap cigars too. But that's not it.
Most all cigars I smoke are rated at least a 90 from C.A.
Fuente, liga Privada, My Father, etc.
I really never smoke more than three a day. Usually just two.
I think it is some kind of reaction in combination with constantly chewing gum when
I'm not having a cigar.

Anybody ever smoked a bowl of Ennerdale Flake in their pipe?

That leaves a flavor that lasts for days in my mouth.

Nasty stuff IMO and absolutely ruins a pipe.

I really enjoy it. Though I can appreciate that it's not for everyone.

And it ghosts like none other. I have one cob I used for Ennerdale when I had a tin a few years ago. Haven't bought any since, though I've been looking recently - out of stock everywhere, seems G&H as a whole is in short supply at the larger places. Can get it for $$$ at some smaller online shpos but I don't like it THAT much. Just an interesting smoke to change things up on occasion.

Anyhow, that one cob I've not smoked Ennerdale or anything else for that matter for at least 18 months. I was getting stuff out of the camper the other day and I took that pipe out. Still smells like Ennerdale.

Yessir.

I really love Gawith & Hoggarth's tobacco.

Nothing I've had from them doesn't fit my tastes. There's some oddballs for sure that are used sparingly, like ennerdale. But overall I like what they make.

Ah......like they say there’s an ass for every seat!

Not my cup o tea, so hopefully that makes it easier to find.
