I've done it to a handful of people without sedation, but that was more a life/death thing. But they've all had some words to say about it afterward. Wonder if you're insistent if they'd be willing to do it without, or maybe just a little morphine no versed. Problem is it often requires more than one jolt. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bm51ihfi1p4 |

I was just cardioverted for the sixth time about 4 weeks ago. Felt good for a couple days. But I think I'm back in afib. Going in to the device clinic Monday morning. That report goes to the EP. Then I guess possibly another ablation or back on the amioderone. Just my guesses. Find out soon I guess but running out of breath walking across a parking lot sucks. |

I hate to hear that.Have they spoken with you about a pacemaker/defib?I also have had left bundle branch block for about 10-11 years now but asymptomatic til most recently. In my case it's been brought up as a last resort which I suppose would mirror most other cases as well.I'm still on a couple hundred mgs of amioderone myself and yes......walking across a parking lot out of breath sucks.........I experienced that on the way in this morning. Anyway you're in my prayers Brother Ron |

On my third icd. First was a regular pacemaker. Still had v tac so I got a 3 wire pacemaker (enhanced, I believe) and an A/V node ablation. Then one of my doctors mentioned my defibrillator. I told her I didn't have a defibrillator. She wondered why they didn't put one in me so back to the EP and now I have a defibrillator. It's counterintuitive I guess . I thought the device would correct afib but that's not the case. So we are waiting to see what the plan is. |

Well the device clinic last Monday (10th) confirmed my suspicions. The cardioversion on July 8 was good for 8 days. I have been in afib since the 16th. So off to OSU today for number 7 done by my electrophysiologist. Then discuss if an ablation will help or not. Also at the device clinic Monday it was determined my left ventricle wire had high impedance so I'm guessing they will set a date to slit me open and fix that. I should be feeling better tonight! |

Home from the Ross. Back in sinus for the duration. Device tech didn't seem overly concerned about the wire. Kinda if it ain't broke don't fix it thought. Not sure if we will adjust or add meds just yet. All went well. Thanks guys. |
