A place in Pembroke KY. JB Roland Dark Fire Cured Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey.

A smokey, buttery, county fair corn roast flavor. Rich & full bodied. Slightly thick in the glass. The 112 proof on the bottle requests your attention. It doesn’t take much to make the deck uneven in an afternoon. Most bourbons taste hot to me once they get on the upper 90s in proof. This one does not.

It’s a 12 hour drive. It is one of two post Covid trips on my itinerary.

I'm assuming you mean the OF 1897 BIB.Have you tried OF Signature 100 proof?Great value and if you like Woodford Reserve there is some resemblance as they are kissing cousins.That being said the OF Rye always has a spot in my liquor cabinet alongside the OF Signature

Yes, the 1897 BiB - Didn't enjoy it as much as the Prohibition style, but liked the Rye quite a bit. I've not yet had the signature or Woodford reserve either, so may try the Signature next and the Woodford after that.

I think you'll be quite pleased with the OF Signature and the WR..........the OF Signature 100 proof is excellent IMO.I've paid triple the price for bitter disappointment.Gave up the bourbon chase once I found what I like

I did enjoy the Prohibition expression but recently tried the 1910 Old Fine Whisky expression and found it to be my favorite of the upper tier OF offerings.I had a couple Spec's store pick OF Single Barrel's that were excellent but those sadly are long gone.If you haven't already noticed......I am a Brown-Forman fan.

I've found an interesting thing with me and the Old Forrester Bottled in Bond: adding even a smidgen of water (as I often do with Scotch and other bourbon) completely destroys the finish. Why that is, I have no idea, but I've been drinking it neat the last two nights and it's made a world of difference. Picked up the Signature on Whistle's rec'd but haven't tried it yet, but very glad I figured this out as I was going to suffer through this bottle or use it as a mixer and now I've got a proper sipping bourbon again. Go figure, palates are strange.

Although OGD 114 has a young note on the back end,when quality,uniqueness and VALUE are compared..............I'll take OGD 114 everytime.Booker's is a good $40 bourbon,at $90 I don't think so.

OGD 114 = $23
Booker's = $90

I just don't think Booker's is anywhere near being that much better
