Mark Twain Riverboat toros are terrible
1. Author: mallusdei45Date: Fri, 5/13/2022, 7:00AM EST
just bought two boxes of these and they absolutely suck. Half of what I've smoked so far has a stem going right through the middle. If you enjoy constantly relighting your cigar every minute or two then by all means, get these. The half that didn't have a stem still sucked, they burn unevenly, still must be relit constantly, and the flavor is off.
I imagine Mr. Twain is rolling over in his grave knowing that his name is attached to this garbage.

It’s probably not just the toros.

Mellow

Even I finally gave up on them.

Really Mallus?
SEVEN years.......no email....no text.......no letter.......and of course, no visit?
And you limp in here complaining about a well known dog rocket, that you decided to buy TWO boxes of, and expect us to have pity, or be understanding?

Maybe live a little and buy some AJ cigars.

Luckily never had one. Don’t think I ever entertained bidding on them either. Not talking

The way I looked at it, if Mark Twain was known / claimed to smoke 20-ish cigars a day then it was always quantity over quality as well as price so I could never imagine a cigar named in his “honor” to be one that would be any better than a yard gar.

I have a box of them in my Humidor. First one was really bad. I let them rest for a month and they are a lot better. Didn't have a stem problem. Sounds like you got a bad batch. That sucks. The one I smoked this evening burned even aall the way to the end.

True, true. But WC bought his ‘gars from REAL tobacconists and I bet those cigars were blended with Cuban tobacco too.

Not sure if this link is “legal” but here goes:

Interesting Palama. Twain was also known to disdain any foreign cigars and only smoked US made, so he may have gone machine made as well.

I heard Mark was a hoarder, and they are still off-loading his "collection"

lesson one...always buy no more than 5 of a cigar that you want to try...

corollary to lesson one...never buy a box of any cigar that you are trying for the first time
