Not too far west, or you end up in California West

More specifically, it is San Francisco Bay Area East. They get the tax advantages of Nevada but are still close enough to the bay to head over for the weekend and get their man-bun washed and fluffed and then have some ramen at that new place that just opened and is all the rage.

Idaho would be a good choice. I think Texas is definatly an option. The outskirts of the Dallas suburbs come to mind, specifically west.

Spey you ever visit where you are in the 80’s? Man it was nice. By the 90’s it was creeping into California East……

Z, I moved here due to fond memories from the 70's and 80's. Anyone here live near Dallas?

Dallas sounds like farts.
15. Author: Mr. JonesDate: Sun, 2/5/2023, 9:33AM EST
Dallas has all the restaurants, nightlife and art museums..
So does Ft. WORTH...where I was for 1 yr...

Austin is very cool back in the 90 's too....

No idea about today?

Listen to whistles advice...be close but not smack dab in it.

Isn't Dallas becoming over run with "progressives" from CA, too?
17. Author: ZRX1200Date: Sun, 2/5/2023, 12:22PM EST
Austin is the Portland of the south. It’s character and charm are currently overshadowed by lunatics.

That’s my neck of the woods.

Frisco is new and super nice. Spendy too. But not technically Dallas county. True west Dallas get you into Carrolton. A nice bedroom community.

I live a bit more northwest in Denton County - next to the lake.

No income tax here is Texas. Lots of sunny days and some 100+ temps in the summer. Almost never see snow.

Dallas, and Texas, are both noted for their conservative attitudes.

Texas residents please don't hate me, my family goes way back to the Texas Republic, we lived there for eight years and have visited several time since leaving.

Texas is gorgeous, but it has this kind of tacky side it never really shakes. It's also being developed at an alarming rate, fine if you like living in the big city. Chose a great location in the country and a housing development or factory is liable to spring up next door.

Driving is a little on the crazy side, however 70 MPH speed limits (minimus really) are pretty nice for getting someplace in a hurry.

^ I’ve lived in Texas for about 50 of my 60 years. I can’t wait to get out of here. 1-2 years and we going

Where you heading to? I’m here on a try-out basis. I like Sugar Land but I’m a burbanite. Nothing so far says we gotta stay here.

It is. I’ve spent probably 40 of my summers there. My mother’s family has a cattle ranch there. We have a home there.

But the state it full....

I hear Idaho is nice!

Any town in Az outside of Phoenix is still a stronghold of conservatism. So all youse carpetbaggers stay away.

Texas is a mixed bag - as are most places.

You pay your money and you take your chances….
