Election Analyst Dashes Harris' Dreams, Explains Why Her 'Electoral College Paths' May Be Closing

Kamala Harris and the liberal media claimed that she won the debate.

But then it didn't seem like she got any bounce, if that were true. She still wasn't giving real answers to questions — cackles don't count. Plus, if she has so much support, what was going on in that Oprah Zoom audience with the duplicate rows of people?

Harris also seems pretty desperate to have another debate with former President Donald Trump. That tells you she knows she needs it, that the internals aren't good, and the most recent polls seem to bear that out.

Our sister site Townhall reported on what former MSNBC commentator and now Newsmax analyst Mark Halperin said about the state of the race. Halperin made clear that if the NYT/Siena poll was accurate, as to the Sun Belt states, Harris' possible paths to victory were shutting down. The poll showed Trump up by five in Arizona, four in Georgia, and two in North Carolina. It doesn't deal with Nevada.

“It leaves out one of the four sun belt states, but I have reason to believe the trend there would be the same. This is what Trump pollsters and strategists predicted about a month ago, that he would reassert the dominance he had in those four sun belt states,” Halperin said. “And of course, if that happens, and I’m not sure it is, the Times polls may be outliers, but if it’s true, it means that Kamala Harris is back to where Joe Biden was before his debate with Donald Trump, which is to have exactly one Electoral College path. And by the way, if Nebraska changes the way it allocates its electoral votes, she’ll have no Electoral College paths if the Times polls are right.”

It means in order to have a chance if what Halperin is saying about the Sun Belt is correct, she would have to win all the other battleground states -- Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania. If she loses even one, she's done. And what he's saying there is that if Nebraska does change its system to winner-take-all and that forecloses even the possibility of one vote for Harris, she would be foreclosed from 270.

Now it looks like Nebraska might not go that route to winner-take-all, as one state senator is standing in the way, but even if that doesn't pan out, the problem still remains that her paths are limited.

The NYT/Siena poll also shows Harris has dropped 11 points with Latinos in Arizona since August. I think that's an indicator of how much they are rejecting her on the border.

Now the Emerson poll seems to be in line with the NYT/Siena as well, as I noted.

Emerson has Trump up in Georgia 50 to 47 percent, Arizona 49 to 48 percent, Wisconsin 49 to 48 percent, and Pennsylvania 48 to 47 percent. Nevada is tied at 48 percent. Harris is ahead 49 to 48 percent in North Carolina and 49 to 47 percent in Michigan.

As Townhall's Matt Vespa opined, then she's back in the position no better than Biden.

If this holds, that's the ballgame, as Halperin is saying.

The Harris team is seeing it and this is why they're starting to flip out and want another debate.

With voting already started...the time for debates are over. Would've been nice and we would've had 2 if Biden had stayed in, but they booted him out and installed Harris. She wanted notes...the ability to sit down...open mics...now that we had a debate with her it wasn't Trump yelling after a mic was turned off it was her. She was given the questions...the presstitutes never fact checked her and when they did Trump they were incorrect or interjected their own "observations" into it. Naw, she showed her ass and it cost her. She refuses to do any interviews and it's costing her. Instead she does these touchy feely Oprah sitdowns...and STILL refuses to answer a single question. My wife thought she won the debate in real time. We agreed to not talk about it when it was airing. I kept a pad of paper fro notes. My observations were she's making faces and moving her hands all over the place. NEVER answered the direct questions. Screamed above the shutoff mic. Once it was over we talked about it. She felt that she was better than Biden but there were no "gotcha" moments where she flailed. I said she was wrong and that she came off as an angry lady with no plans. 2 days later during dinner she said that after hearing the media talk about it she was wrong about the debate. Trump had won. I chuckled inside and wanted to say "I told ya so!" but didn't. The more time that goes by everyone is seeing the same thing that she doesn't have any answers and no policy. There's nothing to sway anyone and independents are buying what she's selling.

Trump Still Faces These Crimes In DOJ Jan. 6 Case—And They All Could Include Prison Time

Topline Prosecutors slimmed down an indictment against former President Donald Trump on Tuesday in his federal case for trying to overturn the 2020 election, after the Supreme Court gave Trump some immunity, but he’s still charged with four federal crimes including conspiracy to defraud, obstruction and conspiracy of rights—which all could carry prison time if he’s convicted.

Key Facts
The updated indictment keeps the same four felony counts that Trump was initially charged with: conspiracy to defraud the U.S. (18 U.S. Code § 371), conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding (18 U.S. Code § 1512), obstruction of and attempt to obstruct an official proceeding (18 U.S. Code § 1512) and conspiracy against rights (18 U.S. Code § 241).

Conspiracy to Defraud the United States: 18 U.S. Code § 371 makes it a crime for two or more people to “conspire either to commit any offense against the United States, or to defraud the United States” or any federal agency, and for one of them to perform some action that would affect the object of the conspiracy, which carries a fine or maximum prison sentence of five years if convicted.

The DOJ charged Trump with conspiracy to defraud based on his broad plan to overturn the election results, alleging the former president “[used] dishonesty, fraud, and deceit to impair, obstruct, and defeat the lawful federal government function by which the results of the presidential election are collected, counted, and certified by the federal government.”

Obstruction of an Official Proceeding: 18 U.S. Code § 1512 criminalizes “obstruct[ing], influenc[ing], or imped[ing] any official proceeding” or attempting to do so, which is punishable by a fine or up to 20 years in prison, and conspiring to obstruct an official proceeding under § 1512 carries the same potential punishment.

Those charges were brought against Trump based on his alleged attempts to block Congress from certifying the electoral count, and him successfully “obstruct[ing] and imped[ing] an official proceeding” when the vote count was postponed by the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol building.

Conspiracy Against Rights: 18 U.S. Code § 241 criminalizes when two or more people “conspire to injure, oppress, threaten, or intimidate” any Americans “in the free exercise or enjoyment of any right or privilege” they’re afforded under the Constitution or federal law, or conspire to oppress them because they exercised that right, and is punishable by a fine or up to 10 years in prison, assuming the crime doesn’t result in death or bodily injury.

The law, though initially enacted in the 19th century to punish members of the Ku Klux Klan, has more recently been used to prosecute election crimes, and the indictment alleges that by trying to overturn the election results, Trump conspired “to injure, oppress, threaten, and intimidate” Americans in exercising their right to vote.

In the USA, an indictment does not equal guilty. Everyone has a right to a fair trial no matter what the charges are be it a speeding ticket or serial murders, no matter if your rich or poor. If found guilty, they have a right to an appeal. That's the way things work in the US judicial system.

The court of public PR is different but the laws are the laws - presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Not necessarily true in Trump's case. Like it's been detailed repeatedly here the cases have been overturned and in some cases tossed out. Wanna really get technical? There is no "guilty" verdict in a libel case. I'm not even a lawyer and know that. I've been very consistent in letting cases follow the paths they legally have to before screaming "convicted felon".

The revision of the existing case against Trump by Jack Smith is comical. He is literally the human version of Looney Tunes Wily E. Coyote and he's trying to resell the Acme goods as viable when if you do any digging or pay attention to the investigative reporting it's all fluff and puff designed to sway uninformed minds. Just because you get charged with something doesn't immediately infer guilt or wrong doing. In my mind, the charges of insurrection should've been the 1st case brought to trial, but that didn't happen and now that Presidential Immunity has been entered and we find out that Smith himself isn't even qualified to handle the cases...they all going to fall. Some happen in the courtroom and some will have to go to a higher court but your expectation of guilt because you desire it doesn't mean it's going to happen. Politicians and presstitutes have been fostering, peddling and pushing narratives that aren't true and NONE of the them have had to face the damages they've created. Altering the mindset is on the individual. You shouldn't have to wait for their retractions and accuracy to make them when the proof is right there for all to see.

As you can see from that link there are things the President can enact within the Executive Branch to affect policy change and those they cannot. He needed the House and the Senate. He gained the House in the mid-terms. You can also see where he changed policy or his mind once in office on what he wanted to accomplish. I like to think (and I might be severely wrong because I don't have direct access to him) that because he's not a politician (he is now though!) what he desired was out of grasp from the beginning and he was forced to alter course or defer to the real politicians and their advice. A lot of what he wanted to do was promised by previous administrations or appropriated by Congress but they refused to act on it for DECADES!

What Trump was able to accomplish in office all the while with Code Pink, BLM, ANTIFA, #RESIST, I'm With Her as well as the impeachments and the sheer blind hatred the presstitutes delivered on him is a testament that he is clearly NOT a threat to Democracy nor Hitler. Do your own deep dive and see what he was able to do under all that foot dragging donkey behavior and you'll see it wasn't for him, but for America. I like my Presidents to be American, and act for Americans even when they're politically not aligned. I prefer there to be that working across the aisles, but I fear those days are over as wait for it...The DNC IS a terrorist organization.
