Jumping into the 3 mystery cigars from Jgraz. first impressions of the 3 based on sniff, apperence, feel.
pre inspection ranking - 1 or 2 could be the premium with 3 being my guess as the yard gar but will def reeavulate upon smoking all three.
1} 5.5inch, aprox 45 ring guage, Pig Tail cap with a mostly closed foot. lighter brown then a maduro maby habano with a paperbag texture to it. smell is sweet cocoa pre light. hard tight pack
2} 6inch aprox 55 RG, large double cap, supple, oily small tooth on the wrapper, maduro is my initial thought. slight peper on the nose
3} 6.5inch 50 RG, thin wrapper with slight crack at foot. think proment veins, prob also maduro,
After lighting number 1 - writing as a smoke it so running comentary...
First impression, sweet, nutty and a little pepper on the back of thr throat and retro but not a ton. i may have over toasted a bit with my quad torch. perfect draw, not 2 tight like on a lot of coronas with a tight pack. dry smoke which adds to the leathery taste/mouth feel. good smoke output but not like a DE cigar.
about an inch in, perfect burn, perfect draw, slight leather to it and the pepper is gone. slight coffee but that me be lingering from my mornng cup.
2 inches in Nuttyness is actaully more of a light wood flavor, leather and just a touch of peper on the retro. coffee is staying with it so i do thing it is the cigar and not the cup from this morning.
halff way point. everything is pretty much the same except it picked up a bit of cream on the finish, peper, leather, wood all remain. ash comes off in nice 1 inch peieces
final third, no change except the pepper kicked up a notch on the retro. while this has lots of flavor it stays pretty consistnat past that first third so not much transition. full body for sure. not a lot of nic hits but you can feel it is trying in that regard.Burn/construction stayed perfect the whole way. solid in my opion that it is a habano wrapper, prob nicaraguan.
60 minute total burn time when i stopped with about an inch remaining as it was getting pretty warm. i was smoking a bit faster then usual though as i was trying to get every note i could and being concious to not require a relight as i tend to smoke very slowly.
everything about this screams AJ. i feel like i have had this before but could just be becasue all the AJ stuff is similer to each other.
i dont beleive this is the premium so either mid or yard but will reevaluate once i smoke the other 2. will try to do number 2 tommorow afternoon. if this is in fact the yard gar then i can not wait for the other 2, its nice to go into these with no preconcived notion based on brand/price.
