I’m going with a July 14 evening address to the nation.

Biden is fit, healthy, and mentally sharp. We now know the Big Lie.

This is a bigger issue than Biden as a candidate for re-election. The nation has no President for the next seven months. The world knows it. The world just got much more dangerous.

It is time for Kamala Harris to step up.

Biden enjoys strong support until he doesn't. Don't think for 98.2% of one second that Newsome would not gladly take the helm if offered. So will anyone else.

Whomever does will simply say something like "I think Joe is more than capable, but he called me and said he felt like it was time to step down and he wanted me to do it for the good of the country. I tried to talk him into staying the course. But he convinced me he that I had to step up to the plate because I have the best change at beating Trump."

Remember when they mothballed a non-humorous toothless Trevor Noah with the comedian he replaced? A real water-carrier that was brought back solely to act as a DNC foil...but cannot help crushing the marshmallow softballs being tossed across the plate. A real pro ushered in to do the "heavy lifting" but understands the act of "singing for his dinner"...he's doing what they want now.
