Once I finally get out of school (and once the housing market tanks) my wife and I are hoping to get a house. Would love to set up a cigar lounge/board game room in the house, but Mrs. Huzzah (though she enjoys the smell of cigar smoke outside) would prefer the house not smell like cigar smoke.

I was wondering if any of you all had success in making your own at-home cigar lounge. If so, what do you do for ventilation and how much does it actually help?

During winter/bad weather I smoke in the house on the vherf. I smoke in the main living area for the house. I crack open a window, and I have a desk fan blowing to the window. I have a smoke eater candle lit close to me. (which you can bid on here). I also have a nice smelling candle or two lit through out the room I'm in and sometimes next room. When I'm done smoking I take the ashtray outside right away. Leave the window open and fan on for another hour. I have an order neutralize spray that I use after that. Next morning, I spray again real fast, light a candle, and any lasting smell is gone with in an hour. My wife didn't want me smoking in the house until she was gone one weekend and I smoked two days in the house, did all this and when she came home she didn't say anything or notice. So a few days later I brought it up and she was fine after that. She enjoys the smell of cigars as I smoke, but not the stale smoke smell. I'm sure there are other things that would be faster or more helpful, but this is what I do and it seems to work.

After some negotiation, I was able to create a cigar lounge on the back deck, front porch, or anywhere in the yard.

I tried the garage, but that got shot down about halfway through a nice romusto

I was wondering if one of those simple window fans would do the trick in a very small room/office.

You could probably do a window fan, blowing out, and just crack a window in a nearby room to allow air flow. Blow your smoke towards the exhaust fan.

Huzza, if I recall, you are in Phx. None of this will work from May to September, because your AC will run 100% of the time you are doing this (which may help, but will cost you $$$). And from October to April, you will want to be outside smoking.

Currently in Kentucky, but we plan to move back once I finish my PhD. So what do you do May-September when it’s 110?

Ah yes. I don’t miss the sweaty 120 degree AZ heat growing up.

I would install a Smoke Eater and or exhaust fan .

Here in Massachusetts I have a walkout basement cigar lounge. I just light a candle and the smoke doesn't seem to make it upstairs.

Yeah if you’re gonna be in AZ you’ll have to dedicate a room and have squirrel fans set up. Ask a lounge what they use.

10 hears ago or so, I tried (there is a post about here somewhere) turning one of my outdoor 10x12 sheds into a “lounge”.
A complete and utter failure. Exhaust system wasn’t good enough and the shed reeked like a stinky bar ashtray.
I smoke outside…

I use my garage, I sealed the door to the house with weather stripping, have a 20 inch box fan mounted in the one window with another small fan a tthe other end pushing the air towards the window. I smoke int he garage almost daily and run a small ozone generator a couple times a week . unless i am actively smoking i have no smell as my wife HATES the smell... even she doesnt complain. never have an issue with smoke sticking around even with 2-3 people smoking.
