From the streets of Miami to Nicaragua, the My Father brand has always stuck to the traditional style of Cuban cigar-making. At nearly 40% off, today’s Special Auction offers up a 91-rated super-premium. La Antiguedad is Pepin Garcia’s second project following the 96-rated, #1 Cigar of 2012, Flor de Las Antillas. The theme remains the same with a tip of the cap to original Cuban art, an area the master blender and his son, Jaime Garcia, know like the back of their hand.
La Antiguedad is comprised of the world’s finest Cuban seed Nicaraguan grown tobaccos harvested from My Father’s privately own fields. A slightly reddish-hued Ecuadorian Habano Rosado Oscuro wrapper blankets a double Nicaraguan binder, one Criollo the other Corojo. Inside, a collection of Nicaraguan tobaccos from three prominent growing regions. Aged a minimum of three and a half years, these tobaccos produce a very complex, yet smooth medium to full-bodied profile, and yields notes of cocoa, coffee, leather and a touch of pepper.
