The Viejo is beautiful, inside and out. Wrapped in a dark and oily maduro wrapper and finished with a subtle square-press, each vitola is heavy in the hand and solid from head to toe. A supremely aged blend of Honduran and Nicaraguan long-fillers lies within, imparting a rich, chewy flavor complemented by hints of caramel and a sweet woody note. The smoke is consistent throughout, pumping out voluminous clouds of smooth, cool smoke thanks to a perfect draw. There is no doubt the Viejo adds yet another notch to Romeo y Julieta’s sizable belt.
