Let’s face it — we’re all a little hesitant to change. Anyone who’s been around the block more than once knows that sometimes when cigars are “relaunched” or “reintroduced” they’re just a little… off. So I’ll be the first to admit that I was hesitant when I heard Rafael Nodal, of Aging Room fame, would be crafting an RyJ cigar. Why mess with success, I asked? Well, CI Nation loyalists, today I am proud to admit I was wrong — this limited edition offering from Rafael and Romeo is one of the best small-batch cigars I’ve ever laid my hands on.
A Dominican puro, the Romeo Aging Room is produced in three delectable vitolas. The burn is slow and exceptionally enjoyable, never once wavering and requiring zero touch-ups. On each puff, you’ll find a uniquely complex mixture of earth, grassiness, leather, baking spices, and woodsy flavors. It stands up just fine on its own, but it’s even better with a few fingers of the good stuff accompanying it.
And finally, the name. Officially the “Romeo by Romeo y Julieta Aging Room Small Batch F25 Capriccio”, or RBRYJARSBF25C for short, this cigar may just take the medal for longest name in our esteemed list of offerings… and it’s one of the best, as well.
