also true, and maybe a tad asocial as well, though some of that may have been purposeful for those he considered lesser lights.
I don't sense he directs any at me when we communicate...maybe because I reached out with sympathy when he had a sad event in life, and didn't allow him to brush me off, because I was sincere. And he has shown me his humanity as well, very rarely seen on the forums. You and many others have shown me that same humanity and kindness.
He certainly spared no feelings but I always enjoyed his confidence despite being the object of some nasty gang attacks.
But I know many insults were misguided due to his beliefs that comparing one to a woman or someone of a different sexual preference isn't really an insult if one honestly believes we are all created to be equal (no religious affiliation to that statement) and worthy of respect...and stuff.
He'd toy with would-be verbal assaults by seeming puzzled why he should be insulted simply because the attacker compared him to someone he did not look down on due to race, religion, or sexual orientation. He wondered why that person considered some categories of humans inherently inferior. Decades ago many considered it an insult for a White person to be compared to a Black person. Victor may just have been ahead of the curve a little when it comes to other discriminations.
OK, maybe not that.
And the rugby nonsense...most of the jokers wouldn't last a few seconds in that sport.
I agree with his feelings about accepting those different from us, but I have to admit I still do laugh at and make similar jokes here...wish I was more like him regarding that. I even left Anth a vm speculating about your sleep arrangements when he got to your house today...and I'm like uh idiot cuz it still makes me laff.
But...he did not tolerate anyone he thought was stoopid. He's clearly owns a brain capable of learning things out of the grasp of many of us (I include myself). So the very idea of rayray believing he somehow "broke" Victor is about as un-selfaware as pretty much anything I've read here. Kind of like the old advice that at the poker table, if you can't figure out who is the fish...it's you.
Hey! Lot's of us stir sh*t, Shawn!
