The best damn cigar for $2 has to be the Arturo Fuente Curly head deluxe. $50 a box, and you get the same tobacco they use in OPUSX, Don Carlos, and their other top brands.

I bought a box for my brother-in-law for his b-day. I ended up going over there more often, just to smoke his cigars :-)

All of the Legends Series are a great buy, especially here on the over taxed Left Coast. With shipping, they usually bid out to about $1.75.

I forgot all about the Helix maduro. A little mild, but very tasty. Another inexpensive cigar thats really good is the Santa Rosa maduro.

Funny you ask this. I smoked a Flor de Todo last night while walking the dog. Its almost a year old, and i think their great! After enjoying it last night, i was going to post a question why they are so cheap. Mine burt great, tasted great, was great. AND CHEAP!! lol sometimes less than a buck a stick. why??
Also love the HELIX broad leaf madoro. I have a box of Super 8 madies that im dying to tear into.

I have a box of the Super 8's as well. I save those for the summer and use them as my golf go to cigar. All you need is two and your good for 18 holes.

I don't know where you are shopping, but my cigar store doesn't carry $1.50 sticks. At this point anything less than $4.00 is considered cheap. Oliva has some around $3.50 to $4.50 and Gran Habanos has some at $4.50. I would imagine for a $1.50 you might want to try Walgreens. "

That's the beauty of Cbid. The quality of the Legends Series is probably about $8.00 in California; maybe more. And all your major name brands are closer to wholesale than they are retail at this web site. The local B&M is a good place to try out a specific stick but I doubt you will find anything decent for $1.50. IMHO

I guess cigars are like a good hot sauce; a lot of good ones out there but everybody has his favorite. Or maybe several favorites like me.

I'm with vfrtwice: After looking at the Flor del Todo for a long time, I finally saw a 5-er of churchills go up for bid here. Won them with a ridiculously low bid.

I've only smoked one: it was very soft and underfilled. Burned a little hot because of that. But the taste was really good! I think it's a tremendous buy.

vfrtwice: the reason they're cheap (and the reason that mine was so loose) is that they're a "sandwich" cigar. I think that means mixed long leaf and cut pieces filler. Made from the scraps of other Rolando Reyes cigars. That may also mean that different batches of FdT would taste different, depending on what leaves they had available at the time.

Hey Drnos,

Thanks for the info. I have mine in the bottom of my Big humi. they stay really moist. I had a few in my other 6 drawer humi that struggles to stay at 65%, and they didnt smoke near as good. I think the extra humidity slows down the burn, not allowing them to get near as hot. I hope my next bundle turns out as good as these!!

thanks

Those Flor Del Todos are a great buy for the price. Not sweet but a lot of flavour,(especilly the maduro), i have a bundle about 2 years old and will have to revisit them soon. But I have kinda moved on to some great smokes for only a little more money. These are good yard and newbie smokes!

Just smoked a HDM Tubos the other day which I picked up for $3.75 (I understand a box of 20 can be found for $50 or so). It was a pleasant mild-medium, with a spicy flavor.

Hi
Boy back in the day I would love to go down to 8th street and pick me up La Gloria and El Rico seconds;Churchill or Double Carona. Not only would you see the rollers hard at work but you could sit and talk with others with the same love for a good upstart smoke(back then anyway)that was endorsed by many of celeberties whose pictures filled the walls to the left side of the entrance (On the right side of the entrance the cigar rollers were hard at work). And to this day my 1.00-2.00 dollar smoke of choice is a good second. Why settle for anything less than a good first when a second is available.

I will second the La Floridita recomendation. They are much better with some age though. Mine are getting to around six months old. They are from the release of the re-tooling of the blend. They are starting to sparkle a bit. I tend to use them as yard gars and work gars. they need to make them in a smaller size though.

So you were Qmechanic and still have the same stuttering phone.

And the other Q (Qmpash) is now doing testimonials on another internet cigar sales site. What is an mpash ?

I have to use code words because it's a competitor's house brand:

The "Well-Known" Smoke Shop Nicaraguan Selection 3000 in the Toro vitola.

One of the bang-for-buck champions of the cigar world. Reportedly made by Oliva, and it really shows. Nice Ecuador Habano wrapper over a stout, ligero-heavy mix of Nicaraguan fillers inside. Fantastic smoke for around $2 or less (bundle of 20 for $40-ish). Age improves it greatly, too! Performance is perfect, burn is dead-on straight, smoke volume is great, draw is great, it really behaves like a champ from end-to-end... typical Oliva quality.

Full of interesting flavors, plenty of "body" and strength to keep you interested and satisfied, and just thoroughly enjoyable overall. "Meh" it's not! If I took the band off and told you it was an $8 or $10 smoke, you'd believe me.

There's a 6x60 version too, but it tastes very different. Mellower, more "buttery" or some might say "creamy" (hard to describe). It lacks the power of the Toro, but it's good in its own right. But if you offer me one or the other for free, I'm going for the Toro.

The other Q is a FOG from the Poconos - he left because he got banned and resented it (he stops in from time to time still). He was helpful in that he would talk about new good cigars he was currently smoking and I found those were cigars to be avoided.
