you definitely can't compare arby's to a real deli as they don't use deli roast beef....
they're trying to start making turkey, pastrami, corned beef, and a few other types of sandwiches that I don't think will go far... they were test marketed, did poorly, and now 5 years later I see they are trying again...
I've worked with corporate Arby's from 2 aspects on 2 separate occasions... here's my very small insider knowledge on Arby's:
They have a real Professional Chef and he calls the shots... he's a stickler about quality and a real pain in the butt to work with and if he doesn't approve your product it won't be sold at Arby's...
The meat they use is a higher quality than just about any fast food restaurant, save In-N-Out... they take beef that is nearly 96% free of fat, chop it up, and do what's called a press and form, giving it the shape of a ham basically... then they slice it...
they're also one of the only people in the industry testing for salmonella, not just e.coli...
they're also freaking delicious... butt that's a matter of opinion...
