This has happened a couple of times. I smoked 2 Xikar Defiance from the same 5 pack the first one was good the ash held on for 2 inches good flavors. The second one was bland no flavor ash fell off every half inch. Same with Joya Cabinetta one good another bland. It's hit or miss. So what's up.

They're made by hand. Some level of inconsistencies should be expected. What you've had to drink or eat prior to smoking can impact the taste and strength as well.

What were you expecting from a $3 smoke?

Never had a plugged Marlboro. They're only .25 cents.

I bought these on Cbid. I understand there cheap cigars but it's almost intensional by the manufacturer. One cigar has long fillers, good flavor, good burn the other has short fillers and tastes like crap. Is this intensional??

Not really. Many times the quality of a cigar depends upon the torcedore (I hope I spelled this correctly.) If the roller is not too qualified, or perhaps has a grudge against the owner or his (or her) own superior, he or she can take it out on the cigars being rolled. It SHOULD be caught by quality control but often times, this is impossible or nearly so. It can happen to good cigars, but is more likely to happen with inexpensive cigars, since the idea is to cut costs down. The more expensive cigars use rarer (in most cases) tobaccos and only buy the best ones available. Then they go through an extensive aging process, in some cases years. None of this guarantees that the cigars you buy are going to be "good" or consistent.
