The funny thing is that the bidding started at $1.00. A lot of people bid on that lot to push the price to $55.

Hmmmm ... crazy? ... or crazy like a fox ? ...

The regular CI price for this bundle is $39.95 ... BUT ... they are sold out and the rumor is, they aren't going to be getting any more ... and, the CI price for an IT Super Fuerte robusto (non-second) is $99 ...
When you consider that the write up says, these cigars really DO smoke as good as the firsts (I've smoked 'em and agree) and have only cosmetic flaws on the wrapper (my experience agrees again), maybe ... just maybe ... this bidder knew exactly what he was getting and is happy ... viewed from that perspective, this isn't the overbid of all time that it might appear to be at first glance ...

To some people $55.00 is a lot of money for others it's pocket change , not everyone is married with four children. Some people want what they want when they want it , others are patient and will get a better deal. The only " over " I have witnessed in the two years I have been posting is the " over posting " on " over bidding ". Oh yeah for your information I did not bid on these cigars. JonR

Oh come on Slim and JonR, you guys are so tight you couldn't drive a 10 penny nail up you a$$ with a no bounce hammer! It's fun to laugh at folks paying 55 bux on a bundle that regularly goes for 20. My motto? Relax and Enjoy! The two go hand in hand, it's difficult to enjoy if you're not relaxed. And life is to short not to enjoy, SO RELAX AND ENJOY DAMMIT!

Robby, these have never gone for $20. I got a bundle once for $25. Haven't seen that in a long time. Being sold out at CI does put a different light on it. If what SteveS says is true, are they worth 55? Hmmmm, maybe! Let's get a bidding war going!!!

xrundog, I got my bundle of the corona grandes for $16. True it was a while ago, but that's under $20. Ahh, the good ole days.

Corona Grandes yes! The Robustos seem a bit more popular. The Toro Maduro most often goes for just under retail.

What about this poor guy. A non-auto-bid too. He must've goofed.

You can get a 5-pack of these at CI for $27.

In general I like the "overbid alert" threads. Like Robby said, I agree that it is often very funny.

But even more than that, as a new guy it quickly taught me the importance of have a second window open to the ci retail site so that I could always check the % price I was willing to pay. Without the reality of a hard number staring you in the face it is really easy to get caught up in the moment and overdo it. Because of overbid alerts I carefully check ci and consistently stay within 40-50% of retail. If I get overbid, I let it pass and wait for the next good deal to come along

It's like when I played in a band. I told the guys in the band, it's really cool when you do a song, even if you've done it a hundered times, if you see someone in the audience who has never heard you do the song, it's like the first time you've ever played it. "See the post through a newbie's eyes" "become one with the post" (like Sonny Bono) hehehe

Steve if you do not mind I will be selling my house at some time soon if you could post that they are not going to make houses again maybe I will get the same response your posting has caused to the price of these smokes. Look at the boxes list today and see the IT seconds C-Bid loves you. Rick I here Bad Frogs are going off the market as well as Line Wolf. They have a lot of AF Hemingway's so lets stop bidding high on them.
