Along with my Encanto blowout deal, I added the obligatory array of 5 packs of cigars I've never tried. Since it's only 50 cents shipping, I tend to go overboard and lowbid on just about everything to see what hits.
Well, I picked up a pack of Alteza robustos and figured I'd give it a try.
Upon first inspection, it is a beautiful cigar. Firm but not hard, smooth wrapper, nice pre-smoke aroma.
I used my bullet punch, as I often do on short fat ring gauge smokes. It lit perfectly with my cheap Bic lighter (my torch was MIA).
The burn was perfectly even throughout the entire smoke. The draw was impecable, with just enough smoke with little effort.
I picked these up very cheap, so I wasn't expecting much. But something was missing.

Oh yeah, Flavor.
It has absolutely no taste. None. Nada. Zip. Zilch.
Almost like it's missing the tobacco, yet remains mysteriously lit.
This is the perfect cigar to hand out to friends who don't like cigars.
To be fair, I do have a minor cold happening, but I was able to taste the garlic in my chicken ceasar salad that I had for supper, so I don't think my taste buds are sleeping.
If anyone has ever "tasted" an Alteza, please let me know what I'm missing.
I've tasted more flavor walking past a lit candle.

Ha! The lit candle analogy is great 'gater! I'm stealing that one.

Try sitting them next to a flavorful cigar and pray that some of the flavor eminates into them! Ha ha!!

I bought some, but havn't tried any yet. I usually let new purchases rest for a month or so before trying them.

I don't know which ones you have exactly but I have

a load of the Alteza Millenium Maduro Churchills and

they are very tasty.

Cappy,
I found a website describing their whole line, and this seems different from the Millenium series.

Truth is, I wouldn't have commented on these except for their outstanding construction. They are beautiful cigars. I was simply shocked when it seemed as though my taste buds were on hiatus.
I'm going to give these another chance, since I'm a sucker for a well made smoke.
