The yellow band Cohibas came out many years ago, then they got in a copy right infringement dispute with General Cigar (Red Dot's) ... who won the court judgment. They are (were) manufactured at a factory called 'Montecristi' not to be confused with the brand name 'Montecristo'.
The Yellow band's from that point on were illegal to be sold in the USA ... but those already here were OK.
Yellow bands (IMHO) are just a nasty cigar, that keeps rearing it's ugly head ... and never seems to go away (for all the claims of how rare they are). I think many unscrupulous dealers are taking advantage of that ...
Red Dot's, although very well constructed, aren't much better ... and cost way too much money for what they give you in return, although some people seem to like them well enough.
