Went fishing today and only brought home one decent sized speckled trout so we ate our bait. DOH!

Live bait shrimp on the Texas coast in the spring are huge, so a quart and a couple of fillets made a great meal.

Good for you...waste not, want not. Things are bound to pick up. Heck of a nice day to be out anyway and that's the best part.

Mudbug season is soon to be upon us. Big festival here in Old Town Spring.

Absolutely Barry!
Can't tell you how many times I brought the bait home and boiled it up with some crab n shrimp boil LOL!

Love those sow specks in the flats along the grass banks; damn I miss that.

Just the fact you can get out there is all worth it brother! Hope to see some pics posted soon!

It was a beauty of a day to be out, but today looks like the better of the two for fishing. Oh well, such is fishing.

wer, the mudbugs are out in full force. I think I've eaten a bushel or two already!

jd1, Mr. Mean will be around here this summer, come on over. Maybe we can get a "cigar" charter fishing boat going. If we feel wealthy we can go for Kingfish, if we just want to smoke cigars and fish cheap, we can go for Snapper. Of course we can always just sit on the beach like pot lickers and smoke cigars all day too, LOL.

Ahh yes, that last one I'm more accustomed too. Last time I did that was before Sargent fixed up their beaches with that mini seawall.

Lot of nice drum and red running along the beach at Sargent. I think I'm going to go cry now.
