A few days ago I received my latest shipment. In the package, among other things, was a box of Astral Favoritos that I won for $25. Seems hard to beat to me. This was my 1st box of stoges w/bloom by the way.

I have yet to try one. I bid on them after reading some reviews on another site where they rate the "Top 20 something Cigars". On this site they call the Favorito a reverse pyramid. The photo on the lot also confirmed this look. The box of Favoritos I got did say "Favorito" on the side but looked darker than the photo (These are not supposed to be maduro) and like a dark version of the perfeccion (the taper is on the head not the foot). The box itself also looks different from the lot photo.

Has anyone else seen this? Are these new versions as good as the old?

if the taper is on the head, you might try turning the cigar around...LOL. anyway, I've never had this before. I've gotten boxes of maduros in what was originally an EMS box with 'maduro' stickers over the markings, but never different size cigars.

check with Customer Service, and the pictures may not be actual, as it says below the pictures...

IMO, I think these are pretty good cigars for the price. The Favorito should have a slightly tapered foot that makes it pretty easy to light.

That's what I thought LOW. It doesn't. The taper is on the head. I did check with Trish and she was unaware of any changes. What's up?

Emailed Keith, got a reply in less than 5 minutes. You gotta love these guys. Here's the 911 (I know, it's 411, some comedy movie had a dork say that. You had to be there.)...

The taper should be at the foot. Must be either CI's mis-pick or a factory packing mistake. If the box says "Favorito" on it, then it's probably a factory packaging mistake, and oddly, I have heard this before (but not in several months). The favorito and the perfeccion are the same dimensions 7"x49 (the perfeccion is the regular torp and the favorito is a reverse torp) and I think a crop of the slide-top wooden boxes must have been packed incorrectly at one point.

Thanks for the heads-up, I'll look into it more closely. We'll take a return if you want, just let Trish, Mike or Steve know...
