How to get Slim Slapped?

I have been on the boards for about 4 months now and wanted to get the official list of how to get slim slapped. Can some of you seasoned veterans list ways that one can get slim slapped or topics that will get your slapped? Or the supreme being himself can respond with his list of things that deserve punishment.

Just curious,

I'm sorry - you'll need to ask that on the Cigars & Related board ...

Posting competing websites, profanity, ripping other members, posting on the incorrect forum. those are a few key rules not to break. I think I've done them all at one time or another. :>)

If you read the thread SteveS posted recently ... you will understand why you will no longer experience the 'Lord of Discipline'. I felt that to continue on, it would be counter productive to the direction we hope these forums will take in the future.

It will be up to the poster to use common sense and good judgement.

Sorry ... no more 'Slim-Slaps'.

Slim, I just read the other post about your slapping. Well, I guess if no more slapping makes this board better and more enjoyable, I'm all for it.

Mag gave me a good summary though, Thanks Mag.

ahh, the good-ol days; Thanks for slapping us Slim! Although I don't remember getting slapped, I guess (like in my youth) I watched and learned...but it was still fun and funny just the same.

Shane... come back, Shane....

BTW, You shouldn't take all the heat about this... CBid staff did request that you help them out... I don't know how many others know that...

Low ... actually, they didn't request it (it just sort of happened a long time ago, and took on a life of it's own), but they have told me numerous times over the years how much they really appreciated all the help I gave them.

It's funny, how I am no different than SteveS in the
final outcome of these forums ... but with the respect he has earned on these boards, and his preparation, explanation and presentation ... look how much more receptive everyone was to his thoughts.

The only difference ... is I called them out
individually for each offense, rather than post a very
well-worded and diplomatic dissertation for everyone to
ponder. Steve told me himself, that he now
sees that what I was doing was for the best interests
of the boards. Only, with my approach, people just got offended, ganged-up on me, and started calling me the 'Lord of Disipline' ... because of all the 'slim-slaps' I was handing out.

It was all good ... and I now realize that the key is in how you approach something and how you handle it ...
LOL!

Anyway ... it's time for people to police themselves for a change, and maybe they will be able to let go of their resentments towards me ... once I stop 'haranguing' those offenders.

Eventually ... they will either get it, or they won't.

I weep. Being slim-slapped or slambolied, the term I prefer has been a rite of passage for many of us here.

...sniff... sniff... What now??? :o(

People will be running with scissors, drinking from the carton, leaning back on two legs of their chair... and worst of all, playing ball in the house...

Heck .. I can't say that I didn't have a lot of fun with it, but it seems that in the interest of change ... that era (or should I say icon) is gone.

For the most part, it was always done in fun, and just as a reminder ... and almost everyone here took it for what it was, and had a good time with it.

But, there were those here who took it much to personal, and had a hard time dealing with it ... and consequently generated a lot of dissension over it.

Who knows what the future holds for the CigarBid forums? They are in the process of growing and evolving in to something I hope turns out to be (if it's not already) one of the premium forums on the web.

... but who knows? It may be necessssary, that sometime in the future, the 'Lord of Discipline' just may have to come out of retirement to rear his ugly 'SLAP' ... LOL!
