Aloha to all, my name is Jon and I am a total newbie not only to the board but to cigars in general. I have been checking out your board here for about a month and could no longer stay silent. You people are the greatest forum I have ever seen!! I have been on many different topic boards but none have been near what you are in here!! I have been so impressed and sometimes even touched by your bond and camaraderie that I just had to say hello and tell you how impressed I am with your forum. I live in Hawaii and do not know too many people into cigars so my time here is very enlightening to me. I look forward to learning more about cigars and hopefully all of you.

It's funny because i always get jealous when i hear about this herf or that herf, this show or that show... i don't see any here in hawaii. so, you come on out here and it's on!! BTW, the prices out here for a good smoke is pretty outrageous so me thinks ya better bring some along...

Aloha Bra! I'm there! Did you say what Island? Ofcourse it really doesn't matter, they're all great. The air smells like flowers and water is nice and toasty.

I'm pretty new here too and I agree with your assessment of the quality of folks.

Welcome!

Welcome, C-newb

Just to answer a quick question before you even ask it, whether to leave the cello on or take it off before putting the cigars down for their nap in your humidor is something on which we are greatly divided ... either way you choose to go, some of us will agree with you and some will not ...

However, the single thing that we are in near-uniformity of opinion about, is that if you choose the cello on method of storage, you should always remove it before lighting your cigar.

Sketcha, I live in the middle of Oahu. Half way to the Beach, half way to the Bars.

SteveS, I know this will sound like the Political way to answer, but I swear it’s the truth. I usually take the cellos off half and leave the cellos on half. Still too new to know which I like better though… And thanks for the tip about taking them off before lighting, I was wondering why all of these great cigars you talk about all tasted the same…

And for all, thanks for the welcome!! Don’t forget to let ME know when the Hawaiian Herf and Surf is, First Drink is on me.

Best way to smoke a cigar is "well seasoned"...kinda like seared ahi...
