gater, I guess I can sympathize with your frustration as a BoSox fan. I mean, in your lifetime, unless you are at least 82 years old, you've never seen your team win a World Series! 1918 was the last Series the BoSox won. Even the Yawkey family is giving up on them, the BoSox are on the auction block right now for the highest bidder. I'll put in an auto-bid for them at $20, I'll probably win ! ;) You think I don't know that Buckner lost the series for the BoSox in '86? C'mon now. As far as money goes, the Yanks have nothing to worry about. Their merchandise is the best-selling item in sports history and the House that Ruth built (LMAO, former BoSox pitcher!) is almost always at full capacity with ticket holders. Why do the Yankees win? Because they are the ONLY TEAM in baseball. No huge salaried "superstars", but a real TEAM, not a group of overpayed individuals wearing the same jersey. Yanks are the dynasty because of TEAMWORK (and yes, Torre is a member of the team, not just the manager). The Doc Gooden comment is a bit off-key, don't you think? I mean, we didn't even really use the washed up ex-Mets pitcher (p.s. I'll throw ex-Met Daryl Strawberry in there too). gater, next time, don't assume I don't know what I'm talking about, you'll save yourself embarrassment that way ;)
