Actually that pic was taken with a standard 50mm lens baby! I have 22" (flexed) biceps and stand 6' 5' tall. So I was gifted with good genetics. I'm still a great big softie and would never EVER get into with a cop of any stature so no need to pepper spray me!

Hmmmm. Forgot all about that picture! I thought that these threads would expire after a certain amount of time. Well, Rick, I am a pleasant chap for the most part, but I haven't any tolerance for extreme left wing liberals spouting dogma which sounds more like a Billy Graham revival than a serious political discussion. I used to be fairly liberal back in college until I found myself in the real world, having to pay real taxes, and a real mortgage, and raising a real child of my own. It was then that I found that I do not need liberals to save me from myself. I found that I do not appreciate liberals attempting to take away guns from people. I found that I do not like the liberal attitude that we should just make new taxes to solve all of our financial problems. I do not like the liberal policies of continuing the dole for america's citizens who are perfectly capapble of getting a job. In short, I don't like liberals in general. I don't like alot of far right-wing folks either. If you wanna talk politics to me, you better be able to back up your statements with credible proof, and be willing to accept that there might just be another side of the coin. If not, then STFU.

Hey Iron Bar, pretty right on in your comments, the thing I hate most about liberal mindset, is that they know what is best for everybody! Tax and spend policies are all wrong! Why not try and make the system work as it was supposed to work? No, it is far better for the liberal left to constantly remind us that they are looking out for us by taxing and throwing more millions at a useless program! Charlie

I am a gardener! I just finished spreading a yard of mushroom compost into the garden area and tilling it under. Spread a bag of Soil Sweet Super Sweet lime to the mix too. Today I shovel it all into raised beds and get ready for planting next weekend. All around the garden area I spread a bale of straw for a path to walk on. Then at the end of the year I spread it out on the garden and till it under to add more compostable material to the mix. I figure that in a couple more years I'll have the most fertile soil in the whole neighborhood.

Hey Iron, sounds good. In the fall try putting down a nice layer of leaves then the lime, then a layer of straw. In the spring add manure(cow prefered) and till it all under. You'll be using 2 hands on the next picture...LOL! Enjoy!

Interesting idea bud. One thing that pisses me off every year though. The garden area gets overgrown with weeds and grass. Any way to prevent this aside from putting down visquene(sp?) or landscape fabric?? I'd really love it if I didn't have to till the weeds under again. Mind you, my garden area is fairly large. About 40 x 20 feet.

I found the plastic/landscape fabric is more problems than the weeds. I plant on mounds and use grass clippings around the plants covering the mounds. Just make sure you use clipping without chemicals used on them. It keeps the moisture in and the weeds out. In between the mounds you can put down straw. I just weed by hand using a hoe on the paths. Hope it helps.

Why did my cucumbers turn out round this year?? They looked like little watermelons. I plan on trying a garden again this summer. The soil is rather furtile, it used to be a cornfield 2 years ago.

Iron Bar...am wondering just what is a "special" jamacian smoke? Don't get lost in that jungle...

I have seen people in the special "peapatches" here in the city lay down newspaper over their plots in the fall. They drive spikes in to hold them there or place a layer of dirt over them. If the weeds can't get sunlight then they can't grow. Then by spring the paper is fairly broken down and they just till it into the soil or pull it up...69

Fubar,

Special Jamaicans. They're an inexpensive bundled smoke from another retailer. If you're looking for a mild cigar with lots of flavor, these are the way to go.
