Hi-ya...

First time poster here-
I used to live in FL, where I had a good reliable connection for genuine Havana MC #2's. Now I have moved to SoCal, and am seriously jonesin' for my MC's. I was wondering if any other SoCal'ers recommend driving into Mexico to pick up cubans, and if so, if anyone could recommend a reputable dealer where I won't have to worry about counterfeits. Suggestions for bringing them back in would be great too.

I'd also love to hear any other suggestions for acquiring cubans in socal. Does anyone buy from those online retailers that ship to the U.S.? I've never tried that - not sure I trust 'em.

Thanks!

Sorry I should have scanned the board first - I see from previous threads that mexico has a prety bad reputation for fakes and low quality.

So, I'm curious about the online retailers that ship to the U.S., or any other suggestions.

thanks-

originalgoat --- post your email addy so that others can contact you about 'other' online retailers ... but do it somthing like this: 'someone(at)somewhere(dot)com' ... so the 'spam-bots' don't get you.

Posting other sites at CB's forums is a 'no-no' ... LOL!

Also ... just a word to the wise. It is not a good idea to openly discuss ISOM sources on online forums (even if they are allowed) because they can be targeted by the feds, and also, a good source will run out quickly ... if the word gets out to too many people.

Even with the favorable exchange rate I find the Canadian sources to be far more expensive than elsewhere.

Cheap Cubans in Canada? With their tax rates, very funny. If they are cheap, they are fake.

Sorry to do this to you Slim. But since the word is out, I have to come clean.

Really though. Mexico is home the anything that can be used to screw the unsuspecting. I have my share of Rolmex watches.
Fun as heck to wear out. My wife has a whole Dooney Bourke collection (actually pretty good quality on her stuff). My Spanish gets me a pretty fair barter on the cheapy stuff.
You really have to dig deep and do a lot of research to find a true ISOM from Mexico.

LOL@Rader1 ...

... and ALWAYS get them an authorized La Casa Del Habano ...

Sadly to say in Tijuana the amount of counterfeit Habanos Cuban cigars is out of control. In Tijuana you will find that everyone is selling Cuban cigars these days, including liquor stores, curios shops that also sell other counterfeit merchandise and even carts in the street that display the Habanos logo. Not only are these shops selling counterfeit Habano cigars but the conditions in which they store there cigars can guarantee you of a bad experience. In Mexico an authorized Habanos dealer has to display the Habanos certificate signed by the president of Habanos to assure it's customers what they are purchasing is 100% authentic. At La Casa Del Habano TJ we believe in treating the customer with respect and honesty so that customer will allow us the privilege of earning their business once again in the future.
