When I do my initial tasting of a cigar, it has been my habit to sip on cool water only so as not to “taint” my results. Since the weather has been so hot lately (I generally smoke outside) I have been adding ice to my drink. What I have noticed is this seems to make the cigar taste more spicy. I went back to some cigars that I had previously rated medium and they really perked up when sampled with the ice water. I thought this was interesting.

Does anyone have information/links to what parameters are used when the “pros” do their tasting? After my initial tasting, all the cigars I smoke are paired with hot drinks or alcohol.

Bud! You take tastings to a whole new level. I love to read your reviews. I've got a tasting eval too: "Yup, I like it", or "Nope, I don't like it"

Keep em coming so I can compare with yours. You're too much.

Yes: How much did this cigar maker spend on advertising in our magazine? That much? Man this cigar could put a Cuban under the table!
